DC Catholic Church for Non Parishioner

I am looking for a beautiful Catholic Church in DC for my ceremony.  I wanted to get married at a church a little nicer than my own parish.  I tried St. Joseph's on Capitol Hill, but you have to be a Parishioner to get married there.  Same case for St. Patrick's.  I left a message for the Priest at St. Matthew's Cathedral, but they haven't called me back yet.  Next on my list to try is St. Peter's also on Capitol Hill.  Any other ideas?

Try the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  They have been a pleasure to work with.  Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.  They have no issue with marrying non-parishioners, though it is an Italian Catholic parish, so they prefer either the bride or groom have some Italian heritage.  I am Italian, but I got the impression it wouldn't have been a deal breaker if we I wasn't Italian.

Thanks I will check it out, though neither my fiance or I have any Italian heritage lol.  I contacted St. Peter's on Capitol Hill and they seem to be willing to do it also.  If St. Peter does not work out, then I will try Holy Rosary.

I am getting married at St. Matthew's- you do not need to be a parishioner there- you just need to be planning your wedding super early in advance or during an off-season!  Good luck!

I love St. Peter's! We're not getting married there, but that's where we're doing our pre cana. (We're getting married in my hometown in Minnesota.)

Does St. Matthew's charge a non parishioner fee?

Well then I think St. Matthew's is probably out of the question for me, because I am getting married in peak season (July 18th).  I hope St. Peter's works out for me.  I have a meeting with the priest next Tuesday, so I will see then.  My fear is that because my wedding date is on Sunday, they may not do a Sunday Wedding.  I am crossing my fingers though...

you can also try holy trinity in geogetown, they marry non-parishoners.  although i don't know about the sunday date, most catholic churches i don't think allow that.

My sister got married at Holy Trinity and it was very nice.  St. Peter's does Sunday Weddings, but they have an 11 AM mass and 5:00 PM mass, so the wedding, understandably, has to be between 1-4, which is fine by me.  I am actually going to go to St. Peters this weekend for service.  I have only seen pictures of the inside, but haven't ever gone in.  I have driven to the church a few times, but each time I had gone, the church was locked.

Just curious as to why you would not recommend Holy Trinity.  I got married there this year and it is a beautiful church in Georgetown.  I am a member of the parish and you have to be or so I was told when picking my wedding date.  I had to pick it pretty early.  Did you have a bad experience.  My wedding was wonderful.  I love Holy Trinity so if you can get in there then I would suggest it.

I was also told that you have to be a member of the parish (or your parents), so Holy Trinity is probably out anyway.  My experience had more to do with my priest than anything else.. it was certainly a beautiful location and the pictures are gorgeous.  The wedding itself went well, except that my trumpeter didn't show up and no one told me so I was confused when I was walking down the aisle to a trumpet-less Trumpet Voluntary (but that was very minor in the whole scheme of things and I'm sure most people didn't notice). The lead-up to the wedding, on the other hand, was really bad.  I have heard wonderful things from other people so it may just depend on who is marrying you. I put my own review on weddingwire if you are interested. In retrospect, I should have asked for a different priest after the problems started.
