PIP - Flower/dress question...rethinking my color scheme

I posted this on the 'flower' boards, but I wanted to post it here too just to get a local's point of view...I'd like to preface with with two things: 1.I'm not from GA, and I've never been there in the summer, so I'm not sure how hot August is, and 2. I'm pretty bad with color-schemes and matching, pretty pretty bad.

Anyway, on with the post:

Initially, before I went dress shopping, I had decided on sunflowers and a navy blue color dress for my girls. I thought it would be cute and everything was going swimmingly.

After dress shopping - I fell in LOOOOVE with a blush dress. Parts of it come close to white, but the bottom of it comes very close to pink.

I don't want our wedding to look like a rainbow threw up on it. So I think I'm going to have to nix the sunflowers in favor of a more subdued hue.

(might have to rethink my whole color scheme....I'll take ANY ideas you have, because I'm not sure where to go from here)

What flowers/colors do you guys think I could do? Any flowers that i should DEFinitely stay away from? Any that I should DEF consider?

Oh, and my wedding is in August. At least that's what we're aiming for. Summer.

That is a beautiful dress!!!!! What about BM dresses? Although I think blue would still be pretty, but maybe not the sunflowers. Roses?

I love your dress!  And navy blue and pink weddings are SO cute (IMO).  But I do think with the pink in the dress.. sunflowers may be a no-go..

    Thanks, girls!!! =)

It's nice to get a little validation about the dress, especially since it's a bit non-traditional

<3 the one in the picture is 5 sizes larger - so i had to hold it the whole time, because it wouldnt stay up even with the clips!

I will also add that in August it is really hot!  Like 90 degrees high with some humidity.  Are you getting married outside?  If it's just an outside ceremony and inside reception I think you'll be ok.  As long as the girls have short dresses any color should be fine.  I like the idea PP had of pink flowers for the girls.  Then you could really do any color BM dress that goes with pink.

This. It is miserably hot in GA in August, so if you're having an outdoor ceremony it might be a good idea to offer fans : )

I hoping to get married inside a church. We haven't moved down to GA yet, so we don't have a parish we go to regularly -- hope wherever we wind up they have A/C!!

The reception we're also hoping to do inside. I think fiance has the idea that it's not dreadfully hot over there....August in New England is nice and warm....he might be thinking that.

As long as we keep everything indoors, I think we'll be OK.

How are nights in August? muggy?

Summers are so hot and the humidty will take your breath away!

Have you thought about daisies?  They have a smaller but similar look to sunflowers and come in different shades of white, pink, and blue.
