My husband to be and I want/need to have a fairly simple and cheap (ha) wedding. This means we need somewhere that will allow us to take care of providing our own food (we both work in the restaurant industry..we have friends that will "cater" for us) our own alcohol (again, its good to have bartender friends), and stay within our venue budget.. I'm talking we would be pushing it with anything more than $1000. I don't even want to spend that much if I don't have to. So ideally we need a venue that ISN'T typically a wedding venue. We are cool with renting our own tables and chairs, possibly even a tent, if we have the space to do so. I'd do it in my mom's backyard if it wasn't one giant hill. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Anyone have a random uncle joe with an empty barn out back? I've looked into renting pavilions in Atlanta parks, but they don't allow you to serve alcohol, so thats out. I'm also looking into Indian Springs state park, not sure if they allow alcohol? Any suggestions, please please please...I'm sooo frustrated and overwhelmed with this

. I'm so ready to be done with this stage of the planning . argh.
Re: Outdoor wedding venue on a budget, who has a barn? help help help :(
[QUOTE]Where in GA and when is your wedding date I know a perfect place!

Yay!
We would like to do it as close to the metro atlanta area as possible for simplicity sake, but we aren't picky about that. We wouldn't mind venturing further away for the right spot. We haven't set an exact date yet but we'd be looking at April/May 2013.
Anyway, thanks for the info! I'll get in touch with Crooked Pines and see how it is. Hopefully my man will be cool with it being a little ways away. It looks about an hour and a half to two from atlanta, not too shabby.
[QUOTE]perry's landing is $3500.. out of budget. Here is a barn in Lula, GA. I do not know the price though <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Walters-Barn/231861700225656" rel="nofollow">http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Walters-Barn/231861700225656</a> There are other places in Augusta, GA you could use. Like Julian Smith Casino or Julian Smith BBQ Pit (you can get married outside, reception inside... they have a gazaboo you can get married at) or the Old Government House. Here is a link to those <a href="http://www.augustaga.gov/index.aspx?NID=1086" rel="nofollow">http://www.augustaga.gov/index.aspx?NID=1086</a> Also in Augusta is the Marion Hatcher Center (can get married outside) <a href="http://www.mhatchercenter.com/gallery.cfm" rel="nofollow">http://www.mhatchercenter.com/gallery.cfm</a> There is also the Savannah Rapids Pavilion in Augusta. Here is a picture <a href="http://kelli-sam.nearlyweds.com/sites/index/423167?is_framed" rel="nofollow">http://kelli-sam.nearlyweds.com/sites/index/423167?is_framed</a> There is also this place but it's $2000 <a href="http://perringuesthouse.com/index.html" rel="nofollow">http://perringuesthouse.com/index.html</a> Here is a place in Union Point, GA <a href="http://www.thecorryhouse.com/Location.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.thecorryhouse.com/Location.html</a> Hope that helps... sorry it's not Atlanta but that's not where I am from! :-)

Thanks, I'll check these places out too. My Fiance doesn't really want to go too far outside of ATL but, I think for a nice venue at the right price I can convince him.
[QUOTE]I have prices for all those and they are pretty pricey :( There is a new place in Eatonton I found where I will be booking my wedding called Crooked Pines Farms! Let them know Tiffany Wilcox sent you! It is 100/hr ! Those other places are around 4000+
