How should I go about starting....

I have always received compliments on my penmanship/handwriting (ive been writing in cursive since 3rd grade)...my friend suggested the other day that I start calligraphing invitations, as I did my own and i really LOVE to do it.

I also have some downtime right now since I am back at home, taking care of my dad/family.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about starting this service? I did a few samples a few minutes- just started doodling different styles,fonts, thicknesses, words...but I dont know what to do with it?

I agree with Bean. My mom is starting one up after doing my invitations.  She's doing invitations for free for one of her friends as well, to build up some good will.  She's taking pictures of the work she is doing, and posting it on Etsy.  Since she has no buyers on Etsy (yet), she is starting with a lower price to try to build up her shop.

Great ideas. I actually just agreed to my friends invitations for her July wedding as her wedding present. I figured it would help me build my clients while at the same time helping her out.

Never thought about etsy- i'm going to have to check that out!  thanks!!
