Pictures between Ceremony and Reception

Do parents come?  I didn't think they did but FI's mom brought it up yesterday thinking she and FFIL are coming along.  I thought they did formals at the church and then formals at the reception.  Is it just the couples choice?  I just went along with her when she said it.  Not sure what is normal.

I think formals are at church and/or reception.  I mention the possibility of parents coming to our picture session and my mom thought I was nuts!

My mom said months ago that she doesn't go for pics.  We're thinking of having her and my dad open up our house for coffee and snacks between the ceremony and reception.  I live a block from church and guests have 2 and a half hours to kill!

It completely depends on what you want to do with that picture time!  Do you want family and others (FG, RB, etc) in the "fun" pics, or just formals?  If you just planned to go somewhere cool and take pics with your BP and hubby, then do that.  Explain your intention to FMIL for that time, and hopefully she understands.

Our parents will only be in formals at the church, house pics etc.

Thanks.  I just didn't know what was normal and I didnt want to say anything to her if I was wrong. I'll have FI tell her if it comes up again.
