Hi girls! I have my reviews ready! They are all good! We had a perfect day.
We stayed at Ocean Blue in Duck. It's an event home with a 30 person max. We rented through Brindley Beach. We did have a few problems with the house, such as the refridgerator door wouldn't stay shut (we kept it closed by shoving a box of reynolds wrap through the handles), there was a water leak, thankfully just in the garage, and the AC was acting funny on the 1st and 2nd floor. Otherwise, no problems! It was a nice house! Brindley Beach came to fix those problems promptly, and so we appreciated that. We got married on the beach, and had the reception dinner back in the living room area of the house.
Officiant: Marsha Johnson. She was great! The ceremony was quick and to the point, but didn't feel rushed. She arrived maybe 15 minutes prior to the ceremony, and booked out before I had the chance to say thanks, but she came, did her thing, and did it well. She was very sweet.
Cake: Great Cakes, also Marsha Johnson. I chose her to be my officiant and my cake person because I only had to pay 1 fee for traveling. We went with the french vanilla with chocolate ganache filling and fondant icing. I'm not gonna lie, when my husband fed me that cake, I was not disappointed. It was amazing! People have said that her cakes were "too sweet," but I don't think so. It was very moist and tasty. The cake was absolutely gorgeous! It was exactly what I expected! Marsha has assistants which I dealt with while planning, and they were very prompt at responding to emails and phone calls.
Caterer: Red Sky. Can't say enough. Eric was great to work with. Very responsive to emails. Very helpful, willing to take note of every little detail, and make sure it was taken care of on my wedding day. The food was amazing. My in laws, not knowing, went to Red Sky for lunch on our wedding day, came home bragging about how good it was, I said "Well thats awesome, because that's our caterer for tonight!" The food was all amazing. We had: Artichoke dip, ribs, pork spring rolls, and fruit display for appetizers. Southwestern caesar salad, gourmet mac n cheese, and asparagus for sides. Meal was assorted mini sliders, stuffed chicken, and pasta station. Talk about variety of great food. My guests were all stuffed, and we had leftovers to eat for the rest of the week!!!! The 2 cooks were also very sweet and helpful.
Photographer: Outer Banks Productions- Michelle Haber. Oh my gosh, how sweet! I absolutely loved her! She is a great photographer. We were rushed because there was rain coming in. She took charge, knew exactly what to do. Although we were rushed, we had plenty of time to get all the pictures that we needed in. We still had time to spare when we were done, thankfully the rain held off for us to get all the pictures we needed. She also came back the next day for the trash the dress shoot. My husband and I had SO MUCH FUN. I felt like she knew exactly how to pose us, I didn't feel cheesy in any of the poses. The sneak peeks she gave us were amazing. I hoping she'll post some sneak peeks from the trash the dress shoot.
All the guests raved about how perfect everything was, how nice all the vendors were. We're so happy with how everything worked out.
Rentals: Metro Rental. We did rent some tables and chairs through them. I did not have to deal with them, as I was not home at delivery or pickup time. But my dad did deal with them both times, and both times, he said they were not very nice or helpful. They did, however, bring me what I needed for the wedding day, so whatever.
I think that's all the vendors we used. Everything else, we did on our own. Let me know if you have questions
