Spiritual advisor, minister or pastor for ceremony

Hello,
My fiance and I are getting married outside at a winery. If you are catholic, you know that most priests will not marry outside of the church.

That said, do you have any pastor or minister recommendations? We are getting married in livermore and live in campbell, ca. We want someone that we can build a relationship with and make our experience special.

We have no religious ties so someone that can tell a story about us, bless our rings and pronounce us husband and wife. We tried finding someone in our families to marry us but that did not go over so well. Most everyone wanted to watch ceremony vs. be in it.

appreciate your time.

You say you have no religious ties, so are you actually looking for a minister or are you open to a non-religious officiant? Also, do you have any friends that might be interested? Alameda and Santa Clara counties participate in the "deputy for a day" program.

The pastors at First Presbyterian Church are pretty awesome. I'm sure they would be willing to work with you.

Which First Presbyterian Church? I think that there is more than one in the South Bay.

I'm also curious as to what people are paying for the pastors service.

We are having a friend officiate our wedding.  i'm catholic and my FI is jewish, but neither one of us is very religious.  so asking a friend was the best option for us b/c we wanted someone that really knows us and like the OP said....can tell a story about us.

do either one of you guys have a friend or family member that can do this for you?  a friend is FREE!  ours is actually one of our GM.

if its a non-religious ceremony, why do you need a minister or pastor?  even if you write your own ceremony, you can talk about G-d if you want to.  or you dont have to mention anything religious at all.

Reese, are you doing the marriage deputy for a day program?

We're having FI's brother officiate using that program.
