Who Escorts MOG?

The MOG is recently widowed (two months ago) and will be attending the wedding solo.  She has no brothers.  FI is the only son.  Her husband's side of the family is not invited to the wedding as no one has seen/spoken to them in years.  So, who escorts the MOG down the aisle in the church and at the reception?  His only surviving grandparent is his maternal grandmother, however we don't know if she'll attend - she's 89 and would have to travel 1,000 mi to get here.  The MOG has 4 sisters and is very close to one of them.  Can she escort her down the aisle? Or should her SIL (in BP) or nephew escort her?

I would say the groom walks his mom down.  If you don't want that, you have an usher.

It would be nice if your FI did it. I'm sorry to hear about your recent loss. I lost my mom close to our wedding, so I can understand the stress. GL

My FI is an only child and walking his mom down.  She was widowed six years ago.  I don't see anything wrong w/MOG's sister or nephew walking her down the aisle either.  It's whatever you guys want.

My FI is escorting MOG down the isle...he wanted to do it as they are very close and it seems that is fairly common in our area.  But, really you can do whatever you'd like as long as your priest is fine with it.  Sorry to hear about your recent loss.  I'm sure it will be a tough time for your FMIL with her loss, but I hope your wedding will lift her spirits.
