needing ideas for a little something special....

Hi ladies,

So my fiance and i are coming up on our 1 year anniversary, and although that may not seem like a big deal to most...its something I want to make special for him just the same because he deserves to smile that day and know that I love him. Money is tight right now and I'm currently looking for another job because I'm not getting a lot of hours at my present job. Could anyone give me ideas of what I could do to make this mark in our relationship special?! I would appreciate it so much. A little on him in case its needed: he's 25, he's really into cars, he loves movies and being outside, he loves food, he loves all kinds of music, he's a farmboy :) I'd be happy to share more if it would help get some ideas. Thank you so much!

Why not just do a romantic picnic in a spot that is special to you or somewhere you've always wanted to go (day trip)? You could do that with little money!

There are a couple of classic car museums in the Chicago area. How about taking him on a date to one of those?

My fiance did the cutest thing for me the night of my last final of college (I was streesed to the max for weeks!)
I came home from work to music playing and candles EVERYWHERE.  When I walked in the door there was a note saying I need to follow the "trail" to get my surprise.  Along the way there were puzzle pieces of reasons why he loved me and at the end was a blank puzzle that I needed to use to glue the pieces on to make the whole puzzle.  When it was completed, I slipped it under the door of my bedroom and he was in there waiting with massage oil and candles and gave me a half hour massage!
I don't know if something like that would be too corny for him, but it's an idea???  Plus it costs almost nothing.

Try to tie in something from your wedding!
A little after our honeymoon (in Hawaii), my husband took me out for dinner. Now, we were suppose to go to Japan-but then the earthquake happened. I was completely devastated! Almost to the point were I wasn't enjoying our Hawaiian honeymoon to the fullest extent...long story short, my hubby took me out to a sushi place. On the table, it was decorated in blue table cloth with white starfish all over it! He even brought out our toasting glasses from the wedding!! He had re-done the table in the theme from our wedding! I was brought to tears! He said this is the closest he could get us to Japan for now, but that was the best dinner I've had!! Hope this helps..
