Mr. and Mrs. or Dr. and Mrs.??

My fiance has his phd so his title is technically "Dr." but I feel so funny being introduced that way.  I've never been to a wedding where one of the people has a title other than Mr. or Mrs. so I don't know how it is done.  What would you guys do?

I'd personally have them say Mr. and Mrs...I'd leave Dr. for your mail and such!

Dr. and Mrs.! But you should really ask FI what he wants some people don;t like to be referred to as Dr. even if they are. We have a friend with multiple Phds however he perfers to go by Mr. not Dr.

I like Mr. and Mrs. but I totally agree that if he wants Dr. (he did work hard for the dang title : D ) then go for it!

Its your own personal preference, but I say def. go with DR. - he earned that title and I think it should be used whenever possible!!but probably your best bet is to ask him which he prefers and go with that.

One of my friends got married shortly after her now husband earned his PhD.  He worked so hard to get it that they were proud to announce them as Dr. and Mrs.  Everyone cheered because they knew how important it was to both of them.

I think it depends on what your FI wants. Etiquette says the "Dr." title is for medical doctors while PhD holders should go by Mr. I personally think it's whatever you want.

My fiance also has a Doctorate and we will be introduced as Dr. and Mrs. That is his title, just because it is not from a medical school doesn't devalue it. He's a college profesor so his students and colleagues also refer to him as Dr. so it doesn't seem weird to me.

I think we are going to go with the Dr. instead of Mr. I asked FI about it and he prefers Dr. He's a college professor and he was in college for 9 years to get it so I guess he deserves it.  Thanks for all the opinions!
