Back with Vendor Reviews!!

Hi Ladies! Sorry, for taking so long to put these up...after our honeymoon and getting back to the swing of things, I had unexpected emergency surgery last weekend- January has been quite the month! So, here are the vendor reviews from our January 2, wedding!  We had an amazing time and would use just about everyone again!! Enjoy!

Bayfront Hilton St. Petersburg A++: Kimberly Karl and the staff at the Hilton were amazing!! The food was FANTASTIC (which is always something you worry about with mass quantities being cooked)- we've gotten lots of compliments from guests and the bar & wait staff were great! Kimberly went above and beyond- the Hilton is lucky to have her!  We'd do it all over again with them in a second!
A Rose Garden- A+: Heather at A Rose Garden was phenomenal from start to finish!! We could tell from our first meeting that she knew her stuff- and she definitely delivered!! While we didn't do any flowers at the church, the various arrangements at the reception, centerpieces and bridal party flowers were incredible- we continue to get nothing but compliments!
A Linen Valley- A++: Zee, the owner and operator of A Linen Valley was INCREDIBLE! Can't not emphasize enough how fantastic he was.  Our venue looked stunning- the majority of which was thanks to him! He did all of the linenes (chair covers, napkins, etc), in addition to a Chuppah-like structure for our cakes.
PixelArt Photography- A+: Anna, the owner and photographer of PixelArt was beyond fantastic!  Our wedding day went off without a hitch- and our photos are incredible.  I can't tell you how many members of the bridal party, and our family, have mentioned how they completely forgot they (Anna and her assistant) were around as we went through our day. To top it off- its been 25 days since our wedding and we've already received 2 bound proof-books full of our photos, a CD of images, the website of images and copyright releases! She's incredible!!
Brett Culp Videography- A: I'm just giving them an A because we haven't received the final product yet.  But, Brett and his assistant were absolutely fantastic! If you don't believe me- check out his work on Platinum Weddings on WE.
Chef Nelson- B- : Our cakes were beautiful- we had a 5 layer 7inch cake and then I arranged for a surprise Groom's cake.  While the cakes were beautiful- I was really disappointed in the Carrot Cake- it tasted like more of a spice cake.  Seeing as how Carrot Cake is DH's favorite- that was a problem.
DJ Felix of CMG (Music & Lighting) A++: Incredible. Phenomenal. Spectacular. First off, the lighting design in the ballroom completely set the mood for the evening- it was better than I could have imagined!  Then there was the music- can I tell you I was disappointed that we had to stop the music and get off the dance floor to cut the cake?  We didn't even stop again to do a bouquet & garter toss- we were having too great a time dancing! We had 280 guests- and no one was in their seats all night- and it was 2am before we wrapped things up!!
Artic Ice (Martini Luge) A+: Artic Ice did an incredible job on our Martini Luge! They ran 2 tracks through, which allowed us to run both Dirty Martinis (my favorite) AND Pomegranate martinis.  Our initials were perfect and so was the red uplighting!!

First off, congratulations on being married! :) I am using Chef Nelson also, and I was also planning on having at least one of my tiers be carrot cake, because that is FI's favorite! Chef Nelson told me that his carrot cake was an award winning recipe! Thanks for the heads up on this! When I meet with him again I'll have to ask for a sample! :)

Do you know if Chef Nelson uses vegetable shortening (liek Crisco) or butter in his frosting?

Congrats on a beautiful day!  DIdn't you get married at St. Jude's Cathedral?  If so, how was the ceremony?  Ours was great.  I couldn't ask for anything more from Sacred Heart.

If you go to snapfish.com and click on login and in the email box put joeandtinamytych@yahoo.com and in the password box put jan22010.  We gave this info out to guests so they could post their own personal picks.  There are a couple out there showing the church and us in the church.

I can't wait to see your pics.

How did the whole family situation work out with people wanting to bring their kids?

    Hi Ladies-
Thanks, I am feeling better- have some pain at the incision site, but truckin-along nonetheless.
As for the questions from above:

-Martini Luge was $275+ tax and that included delivery, set-up, drain pans and lighting. It was worth every penny- and was a hit!! We did have an extra bartender that just handled the luge- and it ran ALL night long.  Guests had the option of a Dirty or Pomegranate (PAMA liquor) martini Laughing

-Chef Nelson also told us his Carrot Cake was award winning, BUT we never sampled it- our mistake.  My mother and mother-in-law were NOT happy...nor was I. But thankfully, I didn't find out until the day after!  As for the frosting, I'm not sure- sorry!

-DJ Felix & Lighting: he did all our the lighting for the entire room (20+ LED panels, which we paid extra for) plus a bog "A" that was included in his DJ pricing.

I'm gonna try to post some pics tonight. HTH!
