Out of town Marriage License Requirements

Anyone know the requirements to get your marriage license in the Sarasota area?  In terms of how many days ahead of timeyou must apply for it before the wedding?  I am able to be in Florida at any point before the wedding, but FI is in the Army and it may be harder for him to get down there a week ahead of time. 

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm from WI and getting married in Sarasota too!  My MOH lives there and told me that if FI and go with cash during the week we're able to get our license any day that they're open.  I found this out on the city of Sarasota's website.  Hope this helps!

It's the same throughout FL.  You can get it as early as 60 days prior to your wedding.  There is a 3 day waiting period unless you've taken a premarital counseling course and you both have to be present.  The cost is $93.50 (the most expensive state to get married in!)  HTH!

If you are not residents of the state of FL the 3 day waiting period (or the class) does not apply.  But everything else the pp's mentioned is spot on!  We arrive 3 days before the wedding and that gives us plenty of time to get it.

Yup, if you're out of state residents, the 3 day waiting period/pre-marital course does not apply.  I did call the courthouse just to verify this.  You can get it the day before if you want to.

Phew...thanks guys, I am just worried we may not have a lot of time before hand to get it done.  Seems easy now though (even if it is the most expensive state!).
