Different Shoes

We just recently decided on a ceremony spot this weekend. I was starting to freak out a little because it's getting so late but we decided on a metropark that has a spot right on a river and is not far from the golf course where we are having our reception. Anyway, I have already bought my shoes and I'm afraid they won't work for the ceremony now. I love my shoes, they a 3in stiletto and go perfectly with my dress. And also my dress is so slinky that I think a boost from the heels will look better for my figure. For the ceremony, I will have to walk on uneven ground and grass. I was thinking about getting a pair of flats to wear during the ceremony. Is anyone else doing this? How will that effect my alterations/hem?

Re: Different Shoes

  • My ceremony "aisle" is on the grass too, so I decided to wear stilettos for the reception and wedges for the ceremony.  I lucked out in finding formal wedges that are exactly the same height as my other heels, so alterations aren't a problem.  These are the wedges in case you're curious . . .

They aren't super comfortable, but I think they'll get me down the aisle without falling or sinking in to the ground!

  • Both PPs sound like good ideas, because such different heel heights I'm sure will cause an alteration problem.. GL!

LOVE your shoes!  I think the wedge idea is a great one too!  I have considered it but think I will just switch to flats since my dress length wont be an issue bc its not long.

  • I love those wedges.  I really wish they came in a blue color!

  • Those wedges are super cute. But they are too tall for me, as i am trying to stay as short as possible since FI is less than 3in taller than me. But those heel guards might just work! I'm going to look into those. Thanks :)

  • I am actually wearing flats for the ceremony and the reception, having the dress tailored for my flats, and wearing cute purple heels for photo opportunities only. I want to be comfy and I want to look significantly shorter than my fiance during the ceremony. I only got the heels to wear for fun shoe pics and for the standard dip-kiss-picture and heel popping out picture.
