Albums

I'm debating if I should purchase a pro wedding album or make my own. Let me tell you that i suck at designing anything, nor do i want to or know how to. I got a quote from my photographer and it's crazy expensive, she did offer a little cheaper alternative but gosh, it's still a lot of money. Did you girls make your own album or did you have your photographer design it and was it worth it? I definitely want something that will last. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you. Smile

You could try a site like Mixbook.com... I used my sisters non pro wedding pictures and made her one as a late gift.. it turned out like a story book, the pics are printed on the page, not mounted into a photo holder (like a real book).. :)  It's an alternative to expensive professional albums.

Many photo sites offer free books. I got a couple of codes for smaller ones and using those for my parents albums.
You might want to do an album before (like a vacation) to decide.

I used mixbook for our Guest Book and it turned out great, The good thing about mixbook, shutterfly, snapfish, etc is that you can add as many pages and while over something like 20-25 it starts to cost more, it wouldn't be nearly as much as a professional one, I bet. Our photographer said to start, albums were $645! I just can't do it and my husband would KILL me, lol...Their samples are beautiful but I'm going to have to go with something a little less....oh and if you're not super creative, those sites really do it all for you
  • Take a look at We Design Albums.com.  It is really easy.

Pick out the photos you want used in the book.  Upload them.  Choose your album cover color, etc. and they do the rest.  They will design it for you and then post it on their site for you to look at before it is printed.

If you want the flexible paper pages, these are NOT those kind of albums.  They make the thick board book style albums. Smile
