So, maybe it is just wedding planning anxiety that has me questioning why folks get married these days, or maybe it's something else...I don't know, but I do wonder why?
Two common answers:
- for love
- benefits (health, financial)
My thinking is that a couple can be very much in love without a piece of paper; I love my guy oodles and boodles, but we aren't married. And as far as the benefits, well, we could meet up with a really great family lawyer and draw up legal paper work that would give me/him all the benefits that a marriage can give.
So, I ask...why do folks get married these days? I would like to hear y'alls thoughts. And I am not dogging or saying boo hiss to marriage, I just have been doing some thinking lately as I am trying to plan a potential wedding.
Thanks for lending me an ear, fellow knotties :0)
