Breakfast Wedding

What do you guys think of a breakfast wedding with the ceremony starting at 9 am reception running from 10:30- 12 on the Monday of Memorial Day weekend?

Things to consider. My venue is booked for Sunday morning. Dinner prices are looking out of our price range. Majority of my guests are Seventh day adventist and will not travel until after sunset on Saturday (but they are older so for safety I dont like the idea of them driving at night). The day before we a planning a family picnic party at a local park. Thoughts are welcome.

I think a 9 am start time is a little early IMO.  I think 10 or 10:30 is a little more friednly and then you could do more of a brunch.

Also, think of the time it will require you to get ready if you are doing hair/makeup etc.  There are very few availiblities to get your hair and makeup done at 5:30-6 inthe morning on a holiday.  Just something to think about.

I agree with PP. Why not do a mid day ceremony.

Since all of the guests or flying or driving in we want to be done by noon or 1 so they can travel home. Does that make a difference? or do you till think it should be later?

I still think it should be later.  People will be able to work around their schedules.  Are you able to do a Sunday afternoon at your venue of Memorial Day weekend?  You could still do a brunch or lunch rather than dinner, get the venue, and your guests can have the whole next day to travel...just an idea.

The idea was a brunch but since its rented to a church on Sunday we'd only be able to have it at night

Jelaine - You know I had my wedding at the Lyceum on a Sunday.  The church folks are out of there by 11:30ish.  We were allowed in around noon to start setting up.  Wait...I thought you weren't having your ceremony there.  Only reception right?

So, if you have your ceemony around 11:00/noon  elsewhere, you could start the recepton at the Lyceum at 1:00 and be done around 5:00....right?  That gives people plenty of time to have Sun night and all Monday to travel.  Is that still too late?
