HELP Invite question

Mom and I are working on addressing the invites.  The invitation reads the Mr and Mrs --------- request your present at the marriage of their..so on and so on.  Here is the question.  How do we address the inner envelope for my grandparents ( Mom's parents).  Here is another question.  For friends and family of my FI, does my Mom address them by their first names or by Mr and Mrs on the inner envelope?  Thanks for your help.  Amanda

I addressed the inner envelope based on what I called them. IE. my grandparents I put grandpa and grandma, and aunt Carol was Aunt Carol and Uncle Tom. For non family that didn't have a title it was just their names that we call them by. The outside envelope is where I wrote Mr. and Mrs. ..... That outside should be formal. That is what I did... I hope this helps.

I addressed my inner envelopes in a more casual manner. Aka: I address outside to Mrs. Edith Grandmalastnameand on the inside, GrandmaGL!

I agree w/ pp that the outer envelope should be more formal, and then the interior envelope can be more informal.I just remembered how lucky we got w/ this part.  Our invites don't have an interior envelope, they just fold up into one little square.  Less writing for me!  hehe
