Dawn Hass Photography

Hi Knotties,

Has anyone used Dawn Haas Photography?  She is the photographer for our wedding, but we are  having a hard time getting her to respond to our e-mails.  Her pictures are great, but her customer services is lacking.  I know one other person who used her for her wedding and had a similar experience with her.  I am considering firing her.  Any advice?

    I consulted with her when i was searching for a photog. She came highly recommended by one of my friends who used her for their wedding. She was really good about correspondence when i was doing my initial consultations. I ended up going with someone else, so i cant really attest to her reliability now. Maybe send her one more email with your concerns about her lack of communication. She may be busy with other weddings or have some personal issue going on. That doesnt give her an excuse to be unresponsive, but at least give her the opportunity to defend herself before you go in another direction. If she is unresponsive after that- then do what you need to do!

    Hi I don't really ever post here but occasionally I come on and read some of the boards. I am using Dawn we had our engagement pics done recently and she does take a while to respond sometimes compared to my other vendors. But she is so nice and I love her photos!! The last time I emailed her was like 2 weeks ago and she said she has a lot of weddings coming up/going on so I am sure that is tying her up some. She also has young children. Maybe you would have better luck calling her.

    Its really nice to hear you enjoyed working with her.  It makes us feel better for choosing her.  We have asked her what the best and preferred method of contact is, and you guessed it, she didn't reply!  We all have busy lives, and somehow we all find ways to get it touch in this modern electronic world.  We hope she works out for us.  We do love her photography.  Thanks for your help!

    I contacted her regarding our wedding and never heard back. Not sure if she didn't want to deal with someone who didn't have a concrete date or not. However, I did make it clear that we would pick a date based around openings that our chose photographer had. I don't like people ignoring me especially when I'm trying to give them business. 

    Sorry, she's not being responsive.

    This is a pet peeve of mine, "busy photographers". If you are so busy then don't take on so much work that you can't possibly handle and maintain customer service at the same time. When we picked our photographer, i specifically asked how many wedding she does a year, so i know i wont be just a bride on a conveyor belt and will be taken good care of. Ok, i'm spoiled, but really?

    Yes, she's probably busy with other weddings, but i agree that if you don't have a concrete date she might not have you as "priority", but still, she should at least let you know that she got your email. I would call.

    Dawn was my wedding photographer, and while I love her work, she does take forever to respond.   I decided the best way to get in touch with her was to pick up the phone and call.

    I don't think you have anything to worry about, but I would defiently bring up your frustrations with Dawn on a phone call so she knows how you feel.
