Donation to Church??

I am getting married in September.  We are not getting married at a church but the FI's father asked the pastor of his church to do our ceremony.  The church isn't charging us anything for his time, but I know I have to give some sort of donation to the chuch.  I do not attend church.  Anybody have any advice regarding a donation to the pastor/church and at what point to do so?  Would he get one of the envelopes like all the other vendors??

I'm not sure about the "when", but for how much maybe you should decide an average of what other officiates ask, and donate that amount.

I think I've seen something about a $75 donation for this service, but don't quote me. Let's see what some of the other girls say.

I gave my pastor a Thank You card with $100 (for the church) and a $25 gift card to Dunkin Donuts (He loves his coffee).

I just included a little note saying thanks for officiating the wedding ceremony.  I gave it to him personally instead of having my planner hand it out like the rest of the vendors.  But I attend the church so I wanted to thank him personally.

I'm paying 350 for a notary...Including travel time.  I know it is a lot but she has done more weddings and has more ideas than I could come up with alone. My 1st wedding, we married in a Church and it was 500 for the space and Pastor. Our wedding is with about 50 guests.

I think 50-100 is to low unless you are having a very small private wedding with family only. Also thinking of how far the pastor must travel.
