Stay safe!

Do we have any girls in the Binghamton area? If so, I hope you, your families and your property are safe. I've seen some news coverage and it looks like a scary situation.

Best of luck to all of you!

I am currently in Rochester, but the house I own and my two college age kids are below Binghamton along the PA border.  River is 16 ft over flood stage and driveway to house was taken out yesterday when creek that borders the property jumped its banks on the other side of the road.  Yikers.

Bradford County PA is incredibly devastated, it is our understanding that they open the flood gates in Binghamton about 2 pm and they expected that water to hit NEPA around 4 pm today.  Stay safe people!  Ugh, so my water!

i live in binghamton but on a hill so i am fine. it is just unbelievable how much damange there is. 30,000 people had to leave their homes and unsure of when they can return. a lot of the water is receding. i think the saddest part is one of the elementary schools is completely destroyed, it was under about 6 feet of water. I was there on wednesday to work an after school program and we had to leave as soon as possible because the creek behind the school was overflowing. thank god the weather forecast changed or it would of been much, much worse.
we had a flood in 06 which was really bad, but I think this one was much worse but thank god for the city officals and the national guard because no one was hurt, which is the silver lining in all of this devastation

I live in Delaware County, which is next to Broome County.  We suffered major flooding August 31, 2011 in the Northern part of the county and then this flood that affected Binghamton, also affected southern DelCo.

I worked at the EOC, and yes, this was worse than 2006 for Sidney, Binghamton, Conklin, Vestal, NY and all other surrounding areas.

I feel terrible for all of the displaced people, but also incredibly so for the animals that lost their lives at PetCo because the managers didn't believe authorities that it would flood. Freaking ridiculous that the animals were left there to drown.
