FURIOUS.

I sent out my save the dates on Monday, and thanks to TK I knew to have the post office measure them for proper postage beforehand. Well, I did, and because I tied the magnets to the cards with twine it made it a slightly irregular shape and therefore 64 cents to send. Okay fine. That is, until I get them sent back to me the next day, tied up in rubber bands all crumpled and wrinkly, saying I need $1.07 in postage. Now, I'm slightly OCD to begin with and I think weddings bring out the perfectionist in every bride anyway, so to see what kind of condition they are in now after putting so much care into making them perfect makes me want to punch someone's teeth out. Plus, there is no way I'm paying that kind of postage for a small card with a tiny little bump in it. So I put a call in to the post office and after having some words, they are on their way to my house to pick them up and send them out.....at 64 f'ing cents.

My invites we pretty heavy with a ribbon tied around them with 2 leaves on the front on the ribbon.  One post office said it would be $1.08 each!!!  My rsvp's were already stamped so those were not included!  I found this to be ridiculous, so we went to another post office-in the same city- and they told us 88 cents each...so we sent them out there! I wonder what guidelines they even go by if everyone gives you a different price!

Sorry for the vent!  Glad yours are finally out!  Now for the fun part of getting all your rsvp's back in the mail!

That really sucks! It makes me wonder how accurate their scales are because I've heard of this happening before. When I worked in a deli, The Department of Weights and Measures would come in every few months to check our scales for accuracy. I'd hope the post office would have to do the same.

We'll see if it really gets taken care of. The guy said he'd "try" to get them through. He's going to try to flatten them and "sprinkle" them in the mail throughout the day so a big pile isn't as obvious. How ridiculous.
