Centerpiece mock-up PIP

I made an example centerpiece/ "tablescape" to try and figure out how much more I need to collect from estate sales and the like. I just cut whatever flowers were growing in my backyard to get a visual. My colors are periwinkle blue and spring green with accents of blush pink. Use your imagination to replace the roses with hydrangeas and peonies.

Our table numbers are going to be classic children's books. This one is The Hardy Boys

All of this Depression glass belongs to my step-mom. She has gobs of it and is letting me use it all. Score! I'm painting some of these mason jars blue to make them look more like the authentic vintage ones.

Do you like the blue runner (it's a scarf) or would burlap look better? I also want to use some vintage lace doilies. What do you think?

ETA: Having picture upload problems...You'll have to follow the links since I can't get the pics into the post.

I have rectangular tables at my venue which are longer than my dining room one, so this would be a bit more spread out.

These pics took ten minutes to upload! Gah!

Lol on the picture issue... I know the feeling. I love the look and the color scheme. I think they would look even better with burlap runners, though... the colors of the flowers would stand out even more against something that is a little more muted. I do like that color blue though... so pretty. Tough call.

Blue is also my favorite color, so yeah tough call.  However, I think the burlap would look good too.  Two very different looks, I guess it just depends on the look you're going for.  Sorry, that probably wasn't helpful at all, but I think either way will look nice!

I think the burlap will make everything pop more.  Cool set up!

All of my inspiration pics have burlap runners, but I'm afraid that my guest who don't obsess over wedding blogs will think it's kind of tacky/cheap. Here's my inspiration pics:

I don't know if I can get my hands on enough doilies to pull this off. But I think it would look better than burlap alone.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of doilies... they remind me of my grandma... and, god love her... not exactly the style I was going for at my wedding.

Plus, I think the picture you have posted just looks really busy.

IMHO, You already have a lot going on... flowers, jars, corks, books....  try it out with just a burlap runner and see how it looks before adding another element.

I wouldn't worry about people thinking burlap is "tacky"... I think it looks really neat and rustic.... I think most guests will feel the same.  It sort of fits in with the whole vineyard theme at Glenora anyway.  Smile

Agree with Monica.  I like the simpler way.  As long as you get quality pieces of burlap and not ones with really tattered edges and stuff, I think it'll look classy.
