Are you buying your Fiance a gift before the wedding? If so what are you getting?I am on the fence with this one because we are paying for out wedding ourselves. I may just do a simple card.
We are both on a super tight budget, so we decided not to get each other gifts. We are getting a puppy soon and decided that she would be our wedding gift to each other.
I'm a 10/10 bride, too :)We're paying for the wedding ourselves, too. I bought him a Smith gym back in February as an early present--it was a good deal and he really wanted it. I figured since he spent a nice chunk of change on my ring, I ought to get him a really nice wedding present! But I'll probably do a card for the day of.
So have you guys discussed presents with your FI? We have not and I know he knows nothing about weddings and would never think to get me a present. I do not care if I get a present cause I consider my e-ring as my present. That's why I wanted to get him something really nice.
Can I get your friends name? LOL We've been looking at getting a 30 something inch for our bedroom. But for $100 more you can get a 48"....doesn't make since!
<Sigh> DF wants the brand-new 65" flat screen that's coming into stores this week. It's twice the price of a 52" or 55" inch... I don't understand that, either! I think he's planning on paying for it himself, though. If he's not, I'm willing to use joint funds up to the cost of a 55", and then he can pick up the rest on his own for the 65".I know he's getting me a wedding present, but I have no idea what it is. I'm hoping it's jewelry, but he might be more practical. I'd prefer to have something I'll have forever.
Hi I'm a 10/10/09 bride too and so glad I'm not the only one who hasn't bought a gift yet lol. I wanted to keep it cheap so I was going to buy a clock for his desk at work or the office and engrave our wedding date on it with a small quote! Good Luck!!!
We are doing modest gifts. FI is a plumber and I knew he would not be able to wear his ring while working for safety reasons, so I got him a sterling silver chain with a lobster claw so he can easily wear it around his neck while working and put back on when his day is done. He picked out the chain, so he already knows what it is, but the card I got him and what I will write will be the big thing.
We are getting season tickets to UK football for eachother. Well, really it's more for him, but he really made a big compromise by switching jobs so we didn't have to live in Lexington, so I felt like he deserved it.
I want to get my FI a gift but I just can not think of anything he would like that's not temporary. I want it to be something he can keep forever but I don't think there's anything like that he'd appreciate. Plus money is really tight and every purchase worries him. And I'm sure my FI doesn't know that gifts to each other are customary so he might feel awkward if I gave him something and he had nothing for me. So more questions than answers on my end. : /
Rschuck-I'm slowly getting into it! FI bought me some UK shirts last week. I'm actually pretty excited to go to the games bc I have never been! I'm sure you will be watching the same game as me then on Saturday
We went out for a really nice dinner and a concert as our gift to each other. We're already spending enough on this wedding, and since FI can only work part time due to school until next summer, money is a little tight right now.
A Taurus Revolver. My fi is an avid gun collector and owner, this one he's wanted very badly. I'm getting The {Last Name}s Est 10-24-09 engraved on it.
Kam2210: I will be watching the UK vs. FL game on Saturday. Normally any time FL plays at UK I go but my brother and sister-in-law are having my nephews 1st birthday party on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The game is set for 6 p.m., grrr!
