Best Source For Linens

Hi ladies...what's your best source for wedding linens--tablecloths actually. I had thought to go to the LA fashion district and buy material...but I don't sew, and people have told me it wouldn't be any cheaper!  Any ideas other than Fusion Linens?  Thanks!Jennifer

We ended up going with Fusion but also looked at Wildflower and Cloth Connection, both of which also had a nice selection.

I can't say who is best for linens...but I can say to skip the fashion district. Our venue provides white and of course, I thought I could DIY some fabric from downtown....I drove down there, couldn't find parking, parked in a meter and got a ticket, bought fabric (you need a lot) and it was expensive. Now guess what? I don't want to sew...I don't even want to measure to cut. I think I will stick with the white we get for free. Lesson: The fashion district, DIY, stores, and vendors in downtown LA are not always worth the drive and the headache IMO.

I wouldn't use anyone other than Fusion Linens. Great service, great quality of linens and help with design if you need it. I used them for our wedding and now I'm designing a large non-profit gala and I'm using them again.

We are actually going to buy our linens from this website, http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/default.asp. It turns out it is much cheaper than renting from Fusion. We looked there as well and to get what we wanted it was much more expensive then just buying it ourselves!Good Luck!

So many people are hung up purely on price that they often forget quality of the linens and quality of service- until they get substandard linens or they arrive late.

If you are just on a budget and don't care about anything but low price, stop reading this post now.  The rest is not of interest to you. But if you care about the quality of the fabric, the feel, and how it flows on the tables, I may have something to say that interest you.  And let me also say this is obviously a matter of opinion as well.

I ordered satin table cloths from several online vendors.  I wanted something soft and silky that looked beautiful and flowed well.  I also wanted something that when my guests brushed up against it, they would think, "oh my that's nice", and not think about how cheap the fabric is.

Having said all that, one of the vendors I ordered from was Fusion Linens in CA.  I went with their polyester charmeuse satin table cloths.  The charmeuse is a type of polyester satin weave.  It is different from bridal satin.  Bridal satin is smooth on one side, but it is overall a rather stiff fabric.  The charmeuse, if it is a good grade of true charmeuse polyester, is as soft as fine lingerie.  Table cloth charmeuse is usually ust a bit thicker, but this is not a bad thing. 

The charmeuse table cloths I ordered from Fusion Linens were as soft as could be. The fabric felt rich in my hands, not rough at all.  Even the back side is pleasant to the touch, but of course has a matte finish like all satins do. (Although the back of many satin fabrics is actually quite course and sometimes unpleasant, this fabric feels nice even on the back). These table cloths look fabulous on the tables and they drape and flow in a very beautiful way.  The shimmer and shine on these is perfectly elegant, not a plastic look or a cheap look at all.  They really are gorgeous.

When your guests at the tables pull up their chairs and happen to rub against this delightful fabric, they will feel like royalty.  I have not ordered chair covers yet, but if their chair covers can be purchased of the same fabric, this is the way I'm going.

I do not have any connection to Fusion Linens, except that I praise them for actually having such a high quality item.  Their price sheet for purchasing a 132" round charmeuse satin table cloth was basically $28 for low volumes, plus shipping.  There are very few vendors that advertise they have charmeuse satin.  And some of the ones that do really don't use a great fabric, so you have to be careful if the feel of the fabric is important to you.  Yes, you can get a table cloth for less. And if you don't know anything about fabric or care about feel, drape, look, etc., you will probably be fine with a $12 tabecloth.  I am a bit of a fabric connoisseur and I can tell you that the poly satin charmeuse table cloths from Fusion are great!

The only disappointment was that if you want to get anywhere with your order, you have to do it over the phone.  Their email responses were either slow, or they didn't bother to respond at all.  That being said, it's worth the phone call.  On the phone, they are all polite and helpful and a real human answered the phone every time. 

I will add one disclaimer, and it is that table cloth vendors often change suppliers and the fabrics their items are made from.  So, please don't take my word for it, but order one and see what it is like, then make your big order afer that.
