Mr./Mrs., Dr. or Just The First and Last Names on Envelope

If I'm sending invitation to my good friends who are now doctor, do I have to write Dr. in front of their name?  Or is it ok if I just write their First and Last name?

thanks,
DN

If you want to be formal it should be
    Dr. and Mrs. John Smith

If it is two doctors married it should you can do it two ways:
    The Doctors Smith
    or
    Drs. John and Jane Smith

If you are really close to them and it is more casual you can just write first and last name.

If you are using inner and outer envelopes you could use the proper Dr. title and then on the inside you use thier given names. they worked hard through many years in school to get that title, give it to them. i didn;t use inner envelopes instead I had the given names caligraphied on each invite pocket fold as a seal. you could print that out your self too.
