Help finding large enough venue! Suggestions Welcome!

Hi everyone!

Fi and I are planning a wedding for Summer/Fall 2014 but need help with venue suggestions in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Criteria:

- can hold 450-500 people
- classy/romantic
- no crazy minimums (spoke with The Depot -- they want a 40,000 minimum!!)
- budget is more in the 10,000-20,000 range
- provides wedding planning services or has a really good caterer. Basically, i dont want to be stuck ordering table cloths because our venue doesn't do anything but unlock doors for us.

So far, I have liked International Market Square, The Great Hall in St. Paul, and the Depot. But the Depot is out of the question now because of cost.

Thanks!

Nora

They don't meet all of your criteria, but the Courtyards of Andover has a large enough indoor reception space for that number of guests. It also has a beautiful garden ceremony site if you're looking for an outdoor ceremony. I don't think they have an in house caterer, but that just means you can bring in anyone you want (which is often a money saver)

Bunker Hills golf course has a 400 capacity room. I canot recall what the venue/restaurant is called, but you should be able to Google it. It's located in Coon Rapids.

I am having my wedding at the double tree park place in st louis park in april 2013. The tip for getting a nice venue at a great price is getting married during the off season. We picked a sunday in april because we are able to get the largest room for 1/3 the cost. I also like the fact that they provide white/ivory table linens and hurricane/votive candle centerpieces. No room rental fee just your F&B min

    Nora-

Have you looked into Earle Brown Heritage Center in Minneapolis? We looked into this venue and thought it was nice. It had a rustic look. The Carriage Hall I believe holds at least 400 people. I think their minimum was $12,000 for a Saturday wedding in Sept. 2014. We did not end up booking with them though.

    will 2nd Earle Brown.
not many venues can handle 450-500 guests, but they can and they have a beautiful garden out back that hosts ceremonies all the time
