Red eye photobooth scrapbook

We have already booked Red Eye for our June 12, 2010 wedding, but we are on the fence about the scrapbook. We really like the idea and we don't want a tradiational guest book (we also do not have engagement pictures so a photobook guest book isn't going to work), but from their pictures it looks like the photostrips are glued into the scrapbook by the guest on black paper and then the guest signs/writes something next to it. Is this how it works? The gluing just seems a little tacky (literally and figuratively).

I have looked around to see if anyones sells a scrapbook with slots specifically made to put photobooth strips with an area to write next to each strip without much luck. Has any one seems something like this to buy not from a photobooth company? I'm sure it would be much cheaper than the $150 red eye charges (although that does include the double prints).

Thanks.

One thing to consider is if you purchase the scrapbook option from Red Eye, it includes the additional strip so your guests take one and the other gets put in the book and the attendant is there to add the strip and guide guests to make sure they know to write something after taking their picture.

My fear with purchasing your own would be that the 2nd strip would then not be included and that the guests would not know to write something in the book or jsut walk away and not see the book.

We did a Red Eye booth and loved it! We did not do the guest book. You do get the digital file for all photos that you can print off later, if you choose, or just look through on your computer. I do not regret not having the tangible book, but it was fun looking through pics and posting some strips on FB!

For our "guest book" we enlarged a copy of our invitation to poster size and had guests autograph it. We had it matted and framed and it's hanging in our home and we love it! Just another idea if you are looking for non-traditional.
    HTH!

mindiosu that is a great idea. Our invitation is really fun and different (my FI is an industrial designer, we had to do something fun), so that would be a cool idea. I'll see what he thinks. Thanks.

That's why we chose to do that too!  We had ours designed (partly by me) by our GD friend to look like a concert poster and it looks so cool hanging on our wall! If you want to see a pic, our photog Steve Lyons just blogged our wedding and there's a great shot of our BM autographing it.  lyonswedding.com and go to blog.
We got loads of compliments on the unique idea :)

This is the front of our invites:

The cake layout was not our original idea, we saw it done similarly for a festival and 5k run sponsored by Ele cake company.  The back has more traditional wedding invitation information/layout, we thought some people would not get it with just the front and it allowed us to include our website, location address and rsvp information clearly (and make more traditional people happy).

I love the concert poster idea, we thought about doing that after we saw this one from brooklyn bride:

The second set is not included if you dont get the scrapbook. You do get the CD though, but then you have to pay to print them out anyway on reg size, so they'd be smaller. IMO we got it, bc its cool to see the guests having so much fun in the pics with their message below it.

I went to one other wedding w/say cheese photobooth and they glue too, but I think it looked fine

I had a Red Eye Photo Booth for my wedding 2 weeks ago and I did the scrapbook.  I loved it and my guests raved about it.  Honestly, I assume they are glued in but I haven't looked carefully.  It doesn't look tacky at all.  Red Eye sent a second staff person since I ordered the scrapbook and they were great at helping the guests place their photos.  It was so fun to go back and read the messages from people.  It will be a great keepsake!

We did not do a traditional guestbook.  At the ceremony we had a matte around a picture of us for the guests to sign and then we had the scrapbook at the reception.  I figured that I would never look at a guestbook again, but messages with pictures I will certainly look at!

    Just an additional thing...

I actually talked to "Bob" whoever he is from RedEye today.  He told me that for $75 you could have just to second set of prints and I could furnish my own scrapbook/embellishments.  However, they would not "man the station" of the scrapbook if I did that.   I would need to have someone to sit there or just trust the guests to do it themselves.

Another option is to pay $125, you provide the scrapbook and embellishments you want.  Then they will provide the second set of prints and they will man the station. So basically, they give you a $25 credit for providing your own scrapbook.

And just in case anyone was wondering like me because I am a nerd, they print on cannon paper and one other name that I cannot remember at the moment but I do remember it was a name brand, just not kodak.

    Hope that helps.
