April 2012 Weddings

I'm back!

Hey! Remember me? I only posted like twice with the full intention of being a regular poster on this board, but life got crazy. Can you believe how close we all are??? Omg! I'm so excited and ready to be a wife, but feel like a pretty lousy bride, mainly because I feel horribly fat(doesn't help that I still need to lose 2 whole sizes to fit into my gown) ugh. I never thought I could ever complain about being a bride, but man have I been worried. I've even had a few really bad dreams about wedding day disasters! I need a chill pill lol. We have yet to obtain an officiant....not good, I know. That's the biggest thing we're working on right now. Here's some positive news though! We got my FI's ring picked out and bought today! My mom(who is walking me down the aisle) has her dress bought and all the flower girl dresses are ordered as well. Bridesmaids dresses are being ordered this weekend. Our registries are completed, yay! We wound up nixing the honeymoon registry btw for those who remember, we realized Target and BB&B were plenty. Centerpieces(minus the actual flowers) are all bought and waiting to be assembled. And here is my biggest piece of good news: I GRADUATED! 2012 is my year! I know there is a getting in shape board, but is anyone else needing to lose a good bit before April like I am? I hope you all had a great holiday season! I'm glad to be back here, it's crunch time now! ~Rachel

Re: I'm back!

  • Welcome back!!! Glad to see you are still around. Also happy to see you are moving right along with your planning. As for the loosing im not really in that boat but more in the toning boat. Im doing Zumba which is fun and really gets you moving and is great cardio. Also I used P90X which is a for real hard on you workout but it really works. I used it to loose my baby weight before I went dress shopping and it worked wonders! I still plug it into my weekly workout just not as often now. Good luck and I hope we see you around more.

  • Congrats on your graduation!

And yay for fun checks.  Any pics of your fiance's ring style?

You've still got time to check everything else off and make sure you will fit into your gown :-)
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • Rachel,

have you checked out My Fitness pal?  It's an awesome (and free) way to keep track of what you eat, and exercise, etc.  I started using it last year, and took a short break due to illness, but I'm back on it and it's great.  I lost about 10 pounds with it last year, but lost 2 pants sizes (gained muscles...which is ok by me!).

If you join it, my username is Rogiefreida, feel free to friend me.

And congrats on graduating!  That is such a huge accomplishment, and before you know it, you'll be a married graduate!  Wink

  • Glad to see you are making planning progress! And congrats on graduating!

You and my DD are in the same weight-loss boat.  Not sure why I agreed to buy a dress that was too small!  LOL  Her sister is going to help us do Medi-Fast for the next 2 months, so hopefully we will both fit into our dresses by April!  :
  • I've done Zumba in the past and it definitely works for me. I just need to get into workout mode! I'll definitely look into P90X, I never heard of that so thanks for mentioning it! Meganb, I don't have a pic of it, but will try to remember to take one when it comes in from being sized. It's probably the most simple band in existence lol, just a plain white gold, somewhat thin band ( but not dainty). I actually liked a few oth rings better when I looked at them in the case, especially the brushed metal look, but when he tried them on this one definitely suited him better than any other. I was surprised that he wanted the old school kind of band that has that shine to it since he's so into keeping it simple, but he really got into it when it was time to pick it out and said he wants to make sure all the ladies see it from across the room and know he's taken. He's so cute :) Blogrout, free is always good for me! I'll definitely look into that! I really am to the point that I could care less what the scale says, I just need to look good in my dress! And...be able to get it over my hips of course. I'll friend you there, I can use the support. I know what you mean, I feel pretty bad when I think about how close April is and how NOT my size the dress is. But I ordered that size believing I could make it work and I have to still believe it because there's no changing what it is. I looked into medifast, but it's just too pricey for me. I hope it works out great for you and your daughter! Thanks for all the congrats guys! I'm really glad school is over now,FOREVER!! Now I need to really stop making excuses for lack of food control each day and lack of working out :/
