Be prepared for his commentary. I went with a friend for her fitting and he doesnt hold back. I tried to use him for mine, but he didnt have time in his schedule for my dress. Good luck!

I am using him, and just got back from my 2nd fitting.  He's amazing.  Yes, he's outspoken, but I love that about him.  My dress is very intricate AND I bought it a size bigger than I probably should have, but he's doing a great job making it fit me perfectly.   I have my last fitting 1 1/2 weeks before the fitting just for final touches and to show my DOC how to do my bustle.

I think he's worth it for the cost, especially if your dress has lots of detail (ruching, beading, etc.)

I didn't use him for alterations (bought my dress in NYC and had it altered here), but I did use him for prep work right before the wedding, and he did a fantastic job.  He's at a higher price-point than some of the other people doing alterations in the area, but I knew that he had worked with a lot of couture gowns in the past, and I wanted that peace of mind.

Also, ditto kel about the commentary.  I personally found it fun and endearing, but be prepared for the outspokeness (and the incredibly nifty southern accent :) ).
  • I've used Tony King for multiple bridesmaid dresses and my wedding gown when my turn finally came. He is wonderful. I love his commentary and always look forward to my dress fittings. He literally took a bridesmaid dress that I sobbed when I first tried on and turned it into the best possible version of that bridesmaid dress for my curvy body.

Highly recommend. Book ahead. And don't be spooked by the elevator.
