Butterfly

What are your new awesome paint colors again?  And where are they from?

FI is already making plans and apparently it involves me picking out colors.  INSANE!

Re: Butterfly

  • hey!!!

We have a painter who gave us some recommendations, but they are all Porter Paints (not sure exactly what kind, but apparently their top of the line brand that dries fast and lasts forever....)

We went to the Porter Paint store and I flirted with the worker there to get us a free copy of their color swatch flip book. It's A M A Z I N G! If you guys have porter paint stores, you should go in and get one so you can start figuring out what color families you like!

The neutral color that we are obsessed with is called "toasted almond." The other neutral that we liked was called "pony tail", and there was another that had something to do with warm cream. so random, bahahaha.

    *butting in*

FI and I have done a shite ton of painting over the past 2 months. We did our kitchen, living room, family room/dining room, 2 hall ways, master bed room, and a guest bedroom. (He had a house built 8 yrs. ago and it was a total bachelor pad.) We used all Benjamin Moore paints but mixed with Ace Royal paint. We like it a lot- Whatever you do.. stay AWAY from Ace Clark & Kensington. The C & K rolls on but then rolls back onto the roller when you go over it again. Ace Royal is MUCH better then the C & K and the C & K is actually more expensive.

  • THanks ladies!! All very helpful :)
  • I'm butting in, too!

We just finished painting the entire inside of our house by ourselves.  It SUUUUCKED.

We used mostly Valspar paint from Lowes and we purchased it while they were running a rebate during Memorial Day Weekend.  We're really happy with our colors and the quality of the paint.  For the money, it was worth it.

Had we had the money, we would have gotten our paint from Benjamin Moore.

I don't think there are Porter Paints in our area?  I've never heard of them.

  • Also butting in- I prefer BEHR paints from Home Depot. I've had great experiences with it- I painted almost every room in my condo.
