I need some Bora Bora advice again...How much money do you usually take with you when you go?  Do you have it all exchanged for XFPs ahead of time, or do you wait until you get there?

Also...I got the Guide to French Polynesia by Jan Prince as you suggested, but the airline baggage part was confusing...it said that the baggage weight limit for the flights on air tahiti nui was 70-80lbs (I forget which), but on the inter-island flights it's only 20 lbs... how does that work?

Hello! I usually exchange all of my money once I get there. I just call my bank before I leave and tell them where I am going. I then use the ATM at Faaa and pull out around $200. There are a few ATMs in Vaitape if you need more cash.

The baggage allowance is 44lbs per person on Air Tahiti but it's 50lbs per person on Air Tahiti Nui. I usually do not have any issue with weight and you can pay Air Tahiti a fee if you end up with more than 44lbs per person.
