July 2012 Weddings

WTF Wednesday!!!!

Please feel free to vent here!!! Ugh...I really hope my boss gives me the week off I need in august for the weddings I am...if not I am screwed...

Re: WTF Wednesday!!!!

  • Guests that want to bring more guests! WTF

FI B-day is next Saturday and I rented a lake house and invited out closest friends and their kids to come up and spend the day with us.

One couple told us that day they had house guests from OOT and could they come? I said sure. Well, yesterday she called to tell me she also wants to invite her BFF & family too. FI and I have never met either of these people.

Look here lady, I already let you bring your house guests and now you also want to bring more people. I said no.

FI and I never ask a host if we can bring more people.

  • One of my cats spilled water all over my laptop keys yesterday :( I'm scared to turn it back on but it sat under a fan afternoon/evening! Praying it is better because I have wedding stuff on there!!!!

Also, I hate money. I'm going to cry if I have to replace my Macbook, in the midst of vet bills, wedding bills, etc. It's too much! I'm too stressed right now but I can't afford retail therapy or any other kind of therapy LOL

  • It's freakin' hot out. -_- 84 degrees..in March...uhm what?

And of course FI and abuela want to turn the air conditioning on. No way in hell. :p I'm the AC nazi. I didn't let them turn it on until the temperatures hit 95 last year. Lol. It raises the electric bill over 100 dollars. Psht...

Suck it up.  I didn't evem have AC until I was sixteen.  We get great wind flow here if they'd leave the damn windows open instead of closing them all the time.

    I know. I'm mean. :p

  • I am over the moon irritated, frustrated, fed up, and SO pissed at the guy doing the public website for our company. I'm sitting here fuming behind my computer. I want to throw something.

  • My second boss was being a PITA yesterday, asking me to do things. When I did them, somehow it wasn't what he wanted even though he never voiced any of those other details. I left early I was so irritated. Luckily my other boss is still out of town, so I only have one to deal with.

  • My WTF is about my Invitation suite. I love it, but we're on Round 6 (which I THOUGHT was the final round) and now my mom wants to switch back to the Round 5 version, which is WAY too cluttered with Directions on the Information card. (See last night's post about this for a picture.) She's paying for it, so I need to listen to her opinion, but for real? We need to stop messing with it and just get them printed already! I should have taken a picture of the whole suite for you guys, rather than just the Invitation and Information cards.

LADY - I'll be 30 in a few months, too :) It's apparently the "new 21" (according to my already-30 friends).

ceglare/Ally - Sorry about your bosses/work. I feel your pain. I finished a project and my boss informed me yesterday that he changed his mind and I have to do it another way. So now I get to re-do my work from the past 2 days.

BrightFirefly - LOL. I put the AC on in the winter because I like the room to be FRIGID when I'm sleeping and my fiance is FREEZING all the time. (We can't open our windows because we're right in Midtown Manhattan and it's SO freakin loud that you wouldn't be able to sleep with the windows open.) Oh, and we have a fan blowing, too. I'm an old person in that I have hot flashes at night.

owengirl - Hope your computer is ok!

  • Not a serious WTF by any means, it's just something I don't get. I have this student, really nerdy but the nerdy kind that aren't funny, or even fun and he's a doctor, family practice or something of the sorts. And he's CONSTANTLY sick! I don't think there's been a class in the past 3 months where he doesn't come in snivelling with a cold. Seriously?! You're a doctor! Get yourself together! Irritates the crap out of me cuz he's so gross and sloppy just inches from giving me whatever he's got. Ugh. And btw he says vitamin C is a myth. Well dude better find something else quick cuz apparently this anti vitamin C thing isn't working for him. He'd be the LAST doctor on earth I'd visit if I were ever sick lol smh.

My WTF is pretty lame this week.

I took my e-ring off this morning while I was cleaning dishes that FI had promised he would clean before bed last night but he didn't. Then I forgot to put the ring back on before I left for work, and it feels SO weird. I keep having little panicky seconds when I feel it's missing, and then remember it's okay, I will have it back tonight.

  • owengirl - I did the same thing to my old laptop (which was a PC) before I upgraded to my macbookpro.....I bought a supercheap external keyboard for literally $15 at walmart that I plugged into my laptop since none of my keys worked. It was kind of annoying to have to carry around an extra keyboard (and it seemed like a really ghetto way to work on a laptop) but it got the job done, so don't worry, even if your keys are ruined, there is hope for you!!

I don't really have any WTFs today....this week has been busy and good, the sun is shining, I went to an awesome yoga class this morning, my boss is out of the office the rest of week for a really intense mediation, I have been doing really well not eating sweets this week (thanks to my healthy fake cookie dough bites!) and we have our tasting with our caterer tonight!

Actually, my only WTF is my ongoing complaints about my co-worker whose office is next to mine.  He is unbelievably loud. Like, even when I have my office door closed, it sounds like he is on a microphone or a loudspeaker and sitting behind me.  I regularly have to hear his inappropriate conversations with his wife (example: yesterday he got on this weird kick about thinking his wife hadn't had a pap smear recently enough and talked to her about it for 20 minutes).  He has even had conversations with his wife involving her jealousy of him working next to a "hot young girl" (me) and how she isn't 100% feeling ok about us working together even though I am engaged.  They also discuss their intimacy problems, he yells at her and calls her things like "a lazy cow", and he laughs so loudly that it hurts my eardrums. Some days, I think I might just explode on him.  but today, I am in such a good mood that I am just happily ignoring him.

OMG that is beyond awkward and inappropriate! I feel really bad for you to have to work in that kind of an environment! And doesn't he notice that when you're on a call, he can hear you, so maybe the walls aren't 100% soundproof?

  • WTF! I have been running around like crazt for the past couple weeks because we just started our wedding planning mid-February. Well most everything is coming together and I thought our wedding party was taken care of. Well one of my 3 bridesmaids is starting to stress me out now. I called her to tell her about the wedding a few weeks ago and she asked me to be in the wedding. I said sure because she is a longtime friend and I love her. As long as she promised me I could count on her. Well now I am starting to wonder. She said that she was worried about her not having a car and I said that's fine, I will work it out (pick her up and whatnot). I even offered to buy her dress because she is struggling financially. Well we still haven't ordered the dresses. We were supposed to meet for lunch last week (meaning I pick her up and pay for lunch) and then head to David's Bridal. I call her on the way there and she wants to cancel, she just woke up cuz she was up late doing whatever excuse she had idr. We reschedule for today. I called her yesterday to confirm and she says she's working last night she picked up a shift cuz she's so broke. I say ill pay for lunch and she says ok, then texts me this morning saying she's not feeling well. Wtf! We need to get these dressed ordered and I'm busy all week. Now i'm having second thoughts about her standing up :(

  • I almost cried this morning when trying to call DirecTV to have somebody come over and set up our cable again because they refused to talk to me because my FI is the authorized user. So FI has to call them instead and there is NO WAY he can do it because he is deaf and we don't have a video phone and his work doesn't have one either. I felt like I was yelling at the representative. She was not helpful at all. Whatever!

Otherwise, just slowly getting our house together and I'm tired of contacting every person in the world to get everything all sorted out like the electricity, propane, septic tank, internet, TV, inspections, etc.

  • HAHAHAHA BUTTERFLY OMG THAT IS SO AWKWARD!

My boss calls me "sweetie" and "dear" which really annoys me, but he's old and southern, so I don't say anything about it.

  • Thanks for the hope, girls! I'm probably going to try booting it up tonight. If nothing else, hopefully the hard drive still has everything and my dad can rescue it all for me.

And butterfly, that is just messed up! Can't you complain to someone about that? I know, I hate to be the complainer too, but that would make me so uncomfortable, and is bordering on sexual harrassment!

Ew, I have an older gentleman who works at my office who calls ALL the women "sweetie" and "dear" and "honey" and it makes me sick.  Everyone lets it go because he's filthy rich and doesn't give a sh*t about anything anyway.  I always remind him that my name is "Kate" not "insert demeaning pet name here."

Oh my gosh. -_- That is so frustrating. Can he added you or someone else (a parrent or something) as an authorized user?

This is probably a dumb question - but how did you call them?

(EDIT: Nevermind - I read the other post. We had a few deaf patients at the facility where I worked  - and they used the same type of relay system. The first time I kept saying "Tell her that blah blah blah" then I realized that was arude and should speak directly to the patient)

Haha, it happens a LOT. I don't get offended when people do that- the entire thing is usually a very new concept for somebody. No big deal :)
