All Inclusive Help!

Me and the FI are planning the honeymoon and would like to stay around the 2,000 dollar mark. I know this seems impossible but my in-laws just booked a spring break vaca to Cozumel for 1,800. This means, we'd be able spend approx. 600 dollars on excursions... (2600 total) I have read a lot of comments about Aruba but to not go all inclusive. I do like the idea that it is out of hurricane's way!

Please, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Re: All Inclusive Help!

  • If you are looking for vacation ideas and great prices, check out this website.

I've used it before and it makes everything SOOO easy to book and they always have the best prices at GREAT HOTELS.

I haven't been to Aruba, so I can't say anything about that...Hope this helps with your budget needs.
  • Puerto Vallarta is somewhere we have been looking into and it seems to be around the $2300 mark for all inclusive for two with airfare. It is slightly over your budget (which is the same as what we would ultimately like to spend- $2600 max) check out honeymoonsinc.com I have done some research on that website and it is good for finding hotels that are in your range as well as every resort from the Bahamas to Jamaica to Hawaii. :)  If you are doing all inclusive a lot of resorts include the Cat boat trips, glass bottom boats and the only extras are for scuba diving or swimming with dolphins.  Most resorts have so much to do you may not even spend the extra $600 so you could even just include it in your limit! Hope this helps a little!

  • I would definitely look into Mexico or the Dominican republic, and like PPs said alot of all inclusives include non motorized water sports like snorkeling in their AI rate
  • Trip advisor have also just announed the 2012 Top 10 All inclusive resorts

  • I think that Mexico is probably going to give you the best bang for your buck. Out of all the AIs that I've ever researched, the Riviera Maya has the best deals.

I have found that P*nta Cana Dominican Republic has the best deals, and with amazing resorts and beaches.  Look into the Majestic Elegance - I went there for just around $1,000 per person for 5 nights all inclusive with flight from NYC.
I have been to Aruba and while it was lovely, I wouldn't go back since it didn't wow me, like I expected it to.  We stayed at the Amsterdam Manor (not all inclusive) for 5 nights for $1,200 per person including flight but that did NOT include any food or drinks.  The resort was great though - it was small so it felt intimate, and you can easily take the bus either downtown or to the other larger hotels with casinos.  I find Aruba to be one of the pricier destinations.
Also look into Couples Tower Isle - they are running special pricing right now.  They also include LOTS of activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, catamaran rides, and a trip to the waterfalls.  If you are going around your wedding date in June, you won't have to worry about hurricanes - hurricane season in August through October.
