riviera maya honeymoon in October where to stay?

We are wanting to go to the Riviera Maya for our honeymoon in October, a bit worried about weather but we are going to chance it.  I am looking a a few different all-inclusives but want a perfect beach (heard a lot have seaweed) and good food and service.  Looking on the smaller side as well (don't want 400 suites) any ideas?  Was looking at the El Dorado Maroma?

Re: riviera maya honeymoon in October where to stay?

  • we are staying at secrets capri--some reviews on TA said the beach wasn't good, but other reviews said it was amazing.  also, food reviews were that the food was good, but just in small portions.  and lastly, i think it is on the smaller side, certainly smaller than secrets maroma.

    hope that helps!

we're staying at Secrets Maroma. :)

BabyFruit Ticker BabyFetus Ticker we're having twins!
  • Have you taken a a look at Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonito? It's only 90 rooms and is ultra luxurious (perfect for a honeymoon!). This is one of the smallest resorts you're gonna find on the RM. The beach looks incredible too.
  • My first choice was Zoetry but I've unfortunately heard the beach is full of seaweed.
    Thanks for all the comments!
  • I'm staying at El Dorado Maroma!  I'm so excited because we wanted all the amenities of one of the bigger all inclusives, but a more intimate feel, and I think it's perfect.  We booked it through All Inclusive Outlet.com and saved a ton of money, so I'd definitely look into that.

I wish I could give you more information, but we don't leave for a couple of months.  But, I haven't second-guessed my decision to go with the El Dorado Maroma, and we booked it several months ago!
  • My suggestion would have to be for Secrets Capri. Secrets Capri is a fabulous adult’s only all-inclusive that sits on a great beach. The resort is extremely intimate with just under 300 rooms and offers plenty of activities and shows to keep you occupied both day and night. I would definitely look into this resort. The service is also top notch as is the food. I can honestly say it was one of the best I’ve experienced at an all-inclusive. I think it would be perfect place for your honeymoon! Good luck with your decision!
  • I just got back from Secrets Capri and I would go a million more times!!! It was a beautiful beach and an incredible resort!! So clean and romantic with the most amazing staff!!!  Here's my tripadvisor review:

I recently decided to write a quick review for Secrets Capri because I know that people often only write reviews when they have negative experiences. My fiance and I did not know what to expect when we randomly booked our trip to Mexico. We had never stayed at an all-inclusive resort before and weren't sure what we had gotten ourselves into but we got a great deal on Book-it.com so we decided to go for it! I am so glad we did! Secrets Capri had the BEST customer service that we have ever had!! We were there for 10 days and they were some of the best days of our life!!! The staff made us feel so comfortable and treated us amazing! Everyone that works there is so friendly and always smiling! The food was great! We ate the best shrimp tacos on the beach every day! The beach servers were amazing: David, Oscar and Juan (beach bartender) were the best!! The rooms were spotless (which says a lot coming from me, I'm a clean freak!) Our ocean view suite was perfect. We are for sure returning to Secrets Capri! We got engaged while we were there and I wish we could have our wedding there but it's adults only! I have no complaints about this place (okay except for maybe the fact that they ran out of Crown Royal while we were there, but part of that may have had to do with us =). Drinks, snacks, buffetts, activities, etc was wonderful!!! We absolutely loved it!!!!
