Hotels near Amarante's in New Haven

Did anyone have their wedding at Amarante's Sea Cliffs in New Haven?  And if so can you suggest some hotels around the area.

So what is the rate at the courtyard?  Really?  I was thinking using Quality Inn becuase of their shuttle service.  I hate to have people driving if they have been drinking.

Omni Rate is anywhere between $150 - $170 depending on time of year
    Courtyard by Marriott is $135 - 150
New Haven Hotel $120 - 150 - being completely renovated.....set to be  finished before Memorial Day

    Not sure of Quality Inn.

    Quality Inn is $90

I was so excited about their shuttle service and how they will go back and forth as many times as you want. I went and looked at it and was going to block off rooms but when I saw an actual room (and the pool) I was like "ehh NO..."
It is pretty similiar to the hotels on the berlin turnpike lol
I mean, there weren't bugs or anything but I couldn't picturemyself getting in those covers. and on my wedding night!
The beds were super low to the floor too.
I went with 3 of my firends and they all agreed. I'm not someone that needs a 5 star hotel but I also don't want to feel dirty sleeping anywhere

and the pool (not that we were gonna use it, but still..) wasway off to the side and right smack next to the highway!

I got married at Amarante's this past summer and our guests stayed at the The Baymont Inn and Suites in Branford.  We hired First Student to do the shuttle and it only cost us $250 for a school bus to bring the guests to the wedding, and two pick-ups at the end of the night.  They were great to work with, super easy to get to, the hotel was really clean and comfortable.  It was only a ten minute drive on the highway.

I totally agree about Quality Inn...I was so excited about their shuttle service because I went to a wedding in Jersey where they had a shuttle and it was such a relief to not worry about driving...however, I really don't want to put my guests at such a mediocre hotel.  We're going with the Omni in New Haven...for July its $160 but I think some of my friends will share rooms and everyone I spoke to was fine with that price.  Plus there is a lot to do in that area of New Haven.  Bride and Groom also get a room upgrade and champagne :)
