Variety in Limo Prices

So it's about 4 months until my wedding and I wasn't planning on doing a limo.  However, we are getting ready at my parents' house which is about 20 minutes from the venue.  Hair and Makeup are also coming there.  I was talking to my MOH about it and it might be worth it to get a limo to bring us to the venue then go pick up the guys.  I'm thinking this because every person in the bridal party has a significant other not in the bridal party so it would avoid having 2 cars at the wedding.  At the bridal show this weekend I talked to 2 limo companies and when I got home asked for a quote from 2 more companies.  I only need about an hour and a half of service.  These are my options:

#1 - They are getting 2 brand new limos in April, the one I would use is a 9 passenger.  They do partial packages so it would come to $213 with tax and gratuity.

#2 - For an hour it would have been $399 and for an hour and a half $499.  CRAZY!

#3 - They do a 3 hour minimum and it would be $501 for an 8 passenger.

#4 - $499 for 4 hours.

Talk about variety in prices.  Goes to show you should shop around!  Guess I know what I will probably be doing.  I'm just waiting to hear back from my girls what would be easier.  So far 2 said it would be helpful, my MOH probably wouldn't use it because she needs her daughter's car seat, and I'm waiting to hear back from 2 more. Anyone have any great companies they want to recommend?

I agree, when I got quotes they were all across the board! Premier Limo was by far the cheapest option- though I ended up going with a company out of MA which was way cheaper for my needs.

Premier was option #4.  One of my BM's told me to look into them, but maybe it depends where they are based out of and where they are going?

Yeea I found that for what I needed, Gateway was the cheapest for me. However, I know one of my BMs called and for what she needed, she found a cheaper price elsewhere.

Sunshine Limo.  I'd never heard of them before but they are a preferred vendor at my venue.

I have been shocked by prices - we need shuttles for our wedding to pick up and drop guests back at the hotel. I've gotten quotes from $800 to well over $1000 - some have min. some don't. I think we are going with school buses because it is by far the cheapest option, but now I have to look into how we are all getting there! Standard limos in CT wouldn't accommodate our 12 person bridal party (that includes me and the groom). Very frustrating! I've looked at Premier and Dattco but I'm still shopping.

Really - Gateway was #2? We are getting a 3 hour package for 473.81 including tax and tip but he did say that he by accident gave me the off peak rate. Then, because we are having a sparkler exit, I wanted a limo or car to take me and FI back to the Inn and he quoted me for a 1 hour 1 way at 210! That wasn't including tax & tip though.

@Carebear  Sunset limo was at Woodwinds bridal show and I talked to them also, it looks like they have the lowest rate I have seen.  But I haven't come across any reviews for them.  I went to their website and it is not updated on the home page it has Hurricane Irene update.  So I would be cautious.

I went to the website too.  They were very nice at the bridal show and very responsive when I emailed and even sent me pics of the new limos.  I guess, we would be getting picked up at 5:30 and the wedding isn't until 7 and it's about 20 mins away.  Even if it does run late, I think I would still have plenty of time.

I just posted a question about limos!! i'm looking for about 1.5 hours worth, and Gateway quoted me at $795!!! Thats outrageous when i look at what they offered you...

I contacted Abbey Road and they said $350 for 1.5 hours (includes tax, tip and fuel).
