Navy Blue/Black question

Hi Ladies-

So, my wedding colors are Navy and various shades of pink. Love my colors- but I'm starting to think about what I want the men to wear, and I'm nervous about doing a black tux with navy vest/tie. The girls are wearing DB dresses in Marine (Navy Blue). I don't like grey/navy tuxes or suits...has anyone ever seen a tux with black and navy blue? I looked it up online and found some pics, I'm just not sure how I feel about it. I could do pink, but I feel like that would be so much pink (our flowers are pink), I was also thinking about doing silver tie/vest but none of that coordinates (BM shoes will even be pink!). Ugh- any thoughts/ideas? One thing I was thinking is having a navy and silver stripped tie might look better than just solid Navy.

I am doing navy blue and pink for my colors as well. FI is in the military so he is just wearing his uniform, and as of right now we have 0 GM, so I don't have to worry about that. I am askingm my Dad to wear a black suit with a white shirt (he already has one anyways) and I am getting him a pink tie to match the bout we will be getting him. I really don't like the look of navy with black, but that is just me. I don't think it would be too much if you do pink since your BM are wearing navy.

Let me add that I just had a conversation with FI- he refuses to wear pink...ugh!

Navy and black will be fine.  Remember, it's about how each person dresses.  They don't need to coordinate completely with each other.  They just need to match themselves.  Why not ask the guys to wear tuxes with silver?

Have the BM even bought their shoes yet?  FWIW, asking them to get pink shoes unless you're reimbursing them is a bit over the line.  It's really much better to go with a neutral for the sake of their wallets.

All of my girls want to get the pink shoes. I told them I would be fine with Silver but they all have showed tons of interest in getting the pink shoes. I wouldn't dream of forcing them to do something like that unless they all were on board and wanted to- not that type of bride, I'm letting them choose their own accessories and dress styles, so they know I want them to be comfortable and not spend a ton of money. As a matter of fact, last time I brought up silver shoes they all refused to buy them and wanted the pink!!!

I was thinking of having FI wear the navy, then the groomsmen wear the silver...all with the same navy/silver stripped tie...

I'm in the same boat as you!! our colors are navy & pink also, and I have no idea what color tuxes the guys should wear! I've seen pics where the guys wear khaki, but I don't think FI's crazy about that idea. We're also considering navy tuxes (if we can find them) but I don't want that to be too much navy... I actually just found a few pics online where the guys have black tuxes (and BM's have navy) and it still looks really nice--honestly, we'll probably end up with black (FI is def in favor of black). A striped tie would look great, and silver is a nice touch--we're thinking something along those lines too. (I'm gonna try and get a little pink in there, but we'll see)

You could do pink bouts for them!!! That would sneak pink in. I'm glad I'm not the only one- Trinket Shoppe in Putnam, CT has navy tuxes and I like them, FI doesn't. I spoke with my bridesmaids today and they have agreed to wear "sparkly" shoes- so GMs can wear silver (i'm just a sucker for matching). They didn't want "normal" silver shoes, they wanted something unique- hey, I'm not gonna complain!!!

I originally was pushing for kahki ro gray suits myself and my DH was adamant that he wanted to wear a tux. In the end I love how it turned out!

rswan412-i might do that! FI doesn't really want pink, but maybe we can at least do it for the GM's bouts.

skarupak, can i ask where you got your navy BM dresses? I was planning on going's to David's but I'm actually looking for something a little darker than their "Marine". beautiful pics, btw!
