Centerpiece Dilemma

Hi Ladies-
I was looking to do tall centerpieces and my florist quoted a price of $200 for each table we are guessing we may have 14 tables but it could be up to 20! As you can imagine this could be costly.
Some family and friends have suggested that I look into Stop and Shop for centerpieces or non-floral centerpieces?
Do you Ladies have any recommendations for centerpieces, or what to do?
Any help is appreciated! TIA! 99 days to go :)

<div>you can do half tall and have short, That way when you walk into the room you still get the affect of tall centerpieces, but you dont have the cost of all those tables.</div>
  • Have you looked into Jane from Just for You? She's very popular on here and was absolutely wonderful to work with. We had tall centerpieces that were quoted at $75 each.  There were many ways I probably could have got that cost down also.

What kinds of flowers are you using? I think this may be a huge factor. I would ask her if you can use fake and real flowers. I agree with PP, doing half high and low as well. We have about  will be having about 15 tables and doing both tall and low centerpieces.  We are only having about 5 tall centerpieces (because of the way our venue is set up she said the tall would look nice spread out on onse side of the room because our venue has a loft and tables are under there and it would not look right) and we are having cherry blossoms in the them. Our quote was $65 per tall centerpiece but I totally think it depends on what flowers you spoke about with the florist. HTH!

I did request Jane! She was booked for my date a year in advance...bummer! So, I went with a florist my venue recommended.
  • Thanks ladies for the tips! The short arrangements were still 135 and tall would be 200. Still seems high priced to me....maybe I'm cheap lol. I'm just at a loss for ideas or what to do for centerpieces. I appreciate all your feedback. You guys are the experts! :

That seems wayyy overpriced!  I'm sure you've already done your florist search since you said you looked into Jane but how about Melissa from Stylish Blooms? She's another popular florist here.  I think that, if you shop around, you should be able to get what you want for half the price.
That being said, I know that there have been girls on here that have used Stop n Shop with good results.
  • Also....to answer your non-floral centerpiece question: Is there a certain theme you're interested in?  I'm sure there are tons of DIY suggestions out there (but I'm blanking).
  • I decided to go with the non-floral arragement partly because I wanted something different, but also to keep costs down.  I LOVE mason jars, we are doing something like this.

  • My only concern I have all my flowers finalized with my florist bouquets, boutinerres, corsages, 2 urns for ceremony. Could I shop around for another florist for centerpieces? Has anyone else done this? Or planning to split the arrangements this way? Thank you for all your support ladies!
  • If you are using the same flowers, I don't see why using a different florist for the centerpieces for the flowers - especially if they are tall. no one would probably notice...

  • We are DIY fake flowers for our centerpieces.  This is what they look like....but the candle will be floating

  • That is really high! I would highly suggest checking out Jacob Moss Design. I met with him and booked on the spot! We have 14 tables are doing half high branch center pieces, and the other half low floral arrangements. He quoted u $50/$20 respectively. On top of those, all of our bouquets (6), bouts (11) and various decorative stuff we are spending under $1,000! Hope this helps!

  • I would shop around florists - that seems REALLY overpriced! What are you doing for a centerpiece?
  • Just green and white flowers and hypercarium berries sp? we ended up negotiating and getting the price down. End result we are going with short centerpieces so our guests can take them home. The tall centerpieces we would have had to transfer the arrangement and return the vases. Thanks for all your support ladies! :
  • We are doing floating candle bowls with shells sea glass and white rose petals. Our sweetheart table has a sandcastle
