Swim Up Rooms

Who has used a swim up room at one of the new resorts?  Is it worth the upgrade fee?  Any pros or cons?  I'm having a hard time deciding between the ocean view or the swim out room...  Thanks!

I've been looking at them too. I think it really depends on the resort. Some of the swim up rooms are on the main pool which lack privacy. At some places there's a patio, a grassy area, and then the pool. Other places there's a small patio and steps right into the pool, which is either a semi-private pool for you and a few other rooms, or a "river" off of the main pool.

I was looking into it too, but I would only want it if it was the last option so we could have our own little pool area.

It gets mixed reviews.

We're going to Secrets Maroma in Riveria Maya and had the same debate.  The swim up pools there aren't attached to the main pool...but we decided to save the money and go for the ocean front view...we may consider trying to switch for free when we get there and do some schmoozing since we'll be newlyweds

we booked a swim out at Secrets Maroma in Oct.  It looked so nice.  Hope we like it!
