S/O wedding shoes...

Since our March poll is about our wedding shoes, I thought I'd ask your opinion on mine. I ordered pair #1 online. The store shipped me pair #2 which isn't even listed on their website (weird).

Pair #1

Pair #2

Anyway, I like #1 better than #2 but I'm not sure that I want to go through the hassle of returning them. I would have to wait until they refund my return (could take 2 weeks) before I can order the first pair again. And, the customer service person told me they can't guarantee that the original pair will still be in stock at that time. It took me a long time to find shoes I liked with the appropriate heel height for my dress.

FI doesn't like the ones I currently have (#2) and thinks the jewel thing is ugly. He likes #1 better. FI has excellent taste when it comes to most things, but I don't know about his take on women's footwear. I can't seem to decide what to do.

I had to stare at them for a while before I even noticed the difference!  I think 1 is prettier, but they're so close, it's not worth the return.

  • I actually like the jewel on the second pair better. Although, since they are fairly expensive I don't think you should have to "settle" just because it's a hassle. I would probably return them and get exactly what I want.
  • I can't believe the customer service rep wasn't more accommodating. They sent you the wrong shoe, it wasn't like you ordered the wrong shoe and want to exchange it. I'm guessing that you paid a decent amount for those shoes so you shouldn't settle. If I was in this situation, I would call back and ask to speak with a manager. The least they could do is put the correct shoe on hold for you and put it in the mail as soon  they receive pair #2.

  • I like them both but if you want #1 I say return them :)
  • I agree with mn2italy I would call back and ask to speak with a manager. It's not your fault they sent you the wrong one. If the shoes you like is the first one I say return it. But the second pair is really nice too. The gem is a little big but they are still really pretty.

Thanks for the votes and comments, ladies.

Nukke, I actually didn't notice that they were the wrong shoes until a week later. That's why I'm wondering if I really need to return them. :)

Part of me is just tired of the shoe saga. I've spent way too much time on the computer looking at shoes over the last few months. It took me a long time to find a shoe I loved with the right heel height in my size. I guess I have a popular size, because it seems like my size is always the first to sell out. It was a pain getting the first pair because they require a signature so I had to track them down from the UPS distribution center after they tried to deliver when I wasn't home. Then, I spent a lot of time yesterday on the phone with 3 different customer service reps. They were all nice and apologetic, but they all had the same story. The distribution center is separate from the store, and they have specific rules on returns. It sucks. They can't hold or ship shoes without an order number. They told me I could order the 1st pair again, return the 2nd pair, and they'd refund me when they got the 2nd pair. I don't have the funds, so I'd have to wait for the refund and risk that the original pair won't be in stock.

Long story short, I think I'm going to keep this pair. They're growing on me. And, I don't need to add anything else to my ToDoList. 2 months and counting.
  • OK so i had to come back and look at the pics again, and really i like the 2nd pair better. they seem more...vintagey to me. if thats a word lol. good plan to stick with them instead of dealing with returns and refunds. just my 2 cents :)

  • Okay, let me start by saying sorry if my first post was a little ranty. I just had a bad experience returning something I bought online in a store and I get so frustrated when sales people are not helpful. But it sounds like the customer service rep people were being polite and as helpful as they could be.

Both pairs are reallly beautiful, and pair #2 will look great with your dress!
