Let's talk about something important...SHOES!

I am having a hard time with figuring out what kind of shoes to wear. I am a shoe fiend. I have a closet just for my shoes. (Have I mentioned that I have the best FI in the world?) Anyway, there are so many fabulous shoes that I could wear, but there are a few problems. Problem Numero Uno. We're planning on getting married on the beach. So stilettos could be a disaster. I would be falling all over myself. Problem Numero Dos. There is only like an inch height difference between FI and I. I wear heels, he doesn't mind, it's never been an issue. But I don't want to be taller than him in pictures either. It's just aesthetically weird to me. I wish I could get over that but I dunno if I will.
So I've been trying to find sandals or flats that are cute enough for me. I'm having the hardest time though. I have found these:

I really like them, they're super cute, a little dressy and frankly, nicer than white flip flops. But the shoe fanatic in me cringes a little. I mean, I'm one of those stereotypes that would actually look forward to the shoes more so than the dress for my wedding. I know, I should find a support group or something. Does anyone have any ideas that would be practical and also something really special? Vintage inspired ideas get extra credit!

  • Hmm...I have seen a ton of really cute flats at JCrew (depending on how much you feel like spending) I check ebay for all things JCrew because you can get it for half the price...

But I think the ones you picked are very cute!

The only colors they come in I don't like. They come in this yellow color that doesn't match my colors, there's a turquoise color but it's ugly, I think, and then silver and leopard print. Don't like 'em. I love the colored shoe idea, but cute tiffany blue sandals don't seem to exist. BTW, alyssa, I just found these that I fell in love with and they come in RED. Nudge nudge. They're kind of on the expensive side though. http://www.dyeableshoestore.com/dyeable-shoe-store/evening-shoes/evening-sandals/angelina--3-1-2--heel.asp
I'm still on the hunt. I looked at J Crew, and of course the ones I like are WAY too expensive. I've checked Zappos before, I think that's where I found these. The search continues...

  • If the colors you were talking about were for the rose "Poetic License" sandals, Nordstrom has them in bronze and silver.  Not tiffany blue, but better than leopard print.    Here's a link: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3023303/0~2376778~2372808~2372949~6003190?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6003190&P=2

Hope that helped a bit Smile
  • Thanks! I'm gonna try and go to Nordstroms and see the silver in person. Online is questionable, so I figure a shopping excursion is warranted. :)

  • ooh those are cute. I wonder what material they were made out of. I went to Davids Bridal today with my girls and they have a huge shoes seletion with some sandels which are all dyeable. They can be dyed a rainbow of colors. Maybe check their website or go in :)
  • Your ceremony is on a beach, but where is your reception?  You could have an excuse to buy (gasp) TWO pairs of wedding shoes!  This would allow you to wear some beach appropriate shoes for the ceremony, and some heels for the reception!

If your reception is in the sand, too, then... yeah... stilettos, no, but you could probably get away with kitten heels! Or try to find some cute peep-toe sling-back flats!
