POLL: Seating or Standing...

I'm not sure as to which to pick so I want to know what you ladies are doing or did at your wedding.While the first dance, father daughter dance, speeches, etc... are going on, will you have the guests standing up around the dance floor or sitting at their seats?I went to several weddings this year where everyone was standing up & A- It was loud & B- I felt that the bride & groom were out of sight due to how crowded it was.

    Def sitting - more due to comfort then anything else. Plus I want dinner to be served (well, the salad) as soon as possible so if they are all sitting, that's easier! I'm actually doing this... 1. Bridal Party/Bride & Groom announcement (while everyone is in their seats) 2. Bride & Groom First Dance3. The Horah (Jewish Wedding)4. Salads/Dinner (During this will be the speeches, mom/son, dad/daughter firt dances)5. DANCING! ;)

    Thanks Court :) I'm also closing the bar for that period because I would hate to know that there is a chugging contest going on while I'm dancing with my dad or MOH is saying her speech LOL

    We are too!! We saved a ton of money by closing the bar for an hour (4 hour open bar instaed of 5) so we are closing the bar for 30 minutes after cocktail hour (during first dance, horah) and the last 30 min of the party... I hope no one notices. But I don't care if they do, lol

    Court- are your waiters going to go around and queitly let your guests know its closing?? the riverhouse offered this to us... she said that the MD would go around tabelt o table and quietly suggest thatall guest go to the bar for a last drink. she said that way its not all "u dont have to go home but u cant stay here"ish! lol

    Good post!  I never thought of this, but I definitely want people to be sitting.  I've been to a few weddings where everyone is still standing, and it gets awkward after awhile.  I'll have to tell my DJ, so thanks!
