Enjoy the Moment

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick note of insipiration for all of you who are in the midst (or trenches) of wedding planning.

As soon as I'd gotten engaged (like, a day later), i started scouring the net for inspiration and ideas and started planning my wedding party and everything. It wasn't until this month when I've gotten lazy and just let myself be.

Today marks my 7 month countdown, but I still don't feel rushed or frantic. Instead, I've learned to relish in this moment. If all goes well, I'll be staying with the man I love until the day I die, and I wish that for you all too! But, the days of our engaged lives, are apart of that singular moment where we can live in the engaged status. After "THE DAY", it'll be someone else's turn, the 'I'm engaged!' will be happily replaced with "I'm Married" or "I's Married Now" (joke).

But hopefully, and God willingly, we'll never have this moment again, to relish in. So just enjoy it now for what it is. Have fun and find delight in the wedding planning moments. Yes, there are stresses, but find delight in them no matter how hard they seem. For they all lead up to a bigger and happier picture.

Take no shame in admiring your left ring finger throughout the day (I know I do). Cherish that e-ring in it's solitude, because one day it'll join another.

What I simply want to say, is, enjoy these moments of your engaged life. It's one of the best in your life, so enjoy and relish it, and don't rush it. Just enjoy!

  • Well said!

I know that I often get annoyed at the whole planning process, but then I have to stop and think about the reasons im doing this and its to marry the man I love and thats the main thing!

Also, I totally look at my e-ring all the time!

Exactly! This definitely a grounding reminder for me.

  • Well said, Renae! I admit I have my moments where I wish I would've eloped and just be done with wedding planning. When we hit the 6 month mark, I realized November 9th will be 'our day' and I'll be marrying my best friend! I'm two months out and we still have things which need to be dealt with but I'm taking it with ease and enjoy more "no wedding planning" days with my FI.
  • I completely agree!!! Being engaged is so fun and I don't know about you guys but we're on cloud 9 99% of the time. We're super in love and doing the countdown to the wedding thing and just so genuinely happy. I watched "5 year engagement" and there's a scene where the two leads are talking about their dreams and their future and I KNOW we do tha all the time (I'm sure you all do too). We'll never get those moments back :)
