QOTD

So it was Groundhog's Day for me this weekend on TK.  For some reason the pages wouldn't refresh past Friday so for the past three days it's been Friday.  Thankfully DH got me all fixed up.  In light of my technical difficulties....

When you have an electronics issue (like there's 5 remotes for your tv and all you want to do is watch a movie or your computer does something funky), are you able to figure it out or do you ask for help?

    Sorry bout your issues, Jagore.

I am ok with it.  I can figure basic things out.  Sometimes I know it's just gonna be easier for him & I let him do it.  However, we got a new router/modem and then had to replace with a different one, & I had to be the one to set them up... both times!!!!!

I'm usually ok with the basics. But since FI's a computer/tech guy, he likes to set up much more elaborate systems around the house. Like how all of the TVs in the house run off of one base computer, that we can also access on our desktops for file sharing and all that jazz. So when anything goes wonky with things like that, I just yell for him and wait for him to tell me it's fixed.

    OMG!!!

Since getting married and having all these new gadgets it truly becomens a drag to pop a DVD...oh wait sorry a Blue-Ray and get the darn speakers and the TV to go on at the same time! Geesh! I push one button which DH said the last time I had the same problem with and said "this is the button u push when it does this" as I press it with anger and hate and it doesn't do what it's suppose to be doing. BUT WAIT...after I'm done watching this Blue Ray why can't it just go on to the regular TV nope I pressed the button u said last time....

SO YES I'm always calling for help and it ends up me being Yell and screaming vintage was so much easier lol

Basic stuff I'm okay with. I'm decent at problem solving, which is what most electronic stuff is, IMO. My husband is a little better/more experienced than I am at certain programs and issues. If all else fails, we have a good friend who works in IT and he will come over and wipe my computer and re-load windows and whatnot. Let me know if you guys need a referral to a computer guy!

I am, obviously, the person that asks for help.  We just got a new receiver that is made for dummies so I can finally watch a DVD or stream Netflix when I want to without calling in DH to change the input mode for me.  Before I had no clue and would just push button until what I wanted appeared on the tv screen or i screwed it up so badly that I couldn't get back to the main tv input and just turned it off.

    good post Jagore!

I used to have difficulties turning on the TV and poppin' in the Blu-Ray but now I'm all good! DH told me I had to learn so that I wouldn't be stuck with no tv if he wasn't around so, he tough me (he's very patient) don't get me wrong...I did call for help MANY times before learning it all!

I'm able to figure it out. I like working with electronics and computers. My parents still ask me to set up the tv so they can watch a DVD. I learned how to work my fiance's tv pretty quick also. The ladies here at work come to me instead of having to wait for the IT guy to help them out with thier computers.
