Need some honeymoon help!

Hi Ladies,
I'm from Chicago.  Fi and I are working on planning our honeymoon for this August.  We are spending 3 nights in LA before we head to Maui.  I was hoping to get some suggestions of restaurants.  We love to go out to eat and like most kinds of food (although FI is not a big seafood fan).  Looking for recs for a nice steakhouse to splurge on one night, and any other fun restaurants to go to.

We are staying at the W Hollywood (since its free with our points) but will have a car and are willing to drive a bit for a good restaurant.

Thanks in advance!

LOL, I've lived in SoCal my entire life, but I don't have recs for restaurants in Los Angeles... I do love Maui though!

Let me know if you need recs for Maui though :)  We went for our honeymoon last summer and we're going this summer too.  I highly recommend getting the Maui Revealed book if you haven't picked it up yet.

I don't live in that area of West Hollywood (although I love it).  There are lots of good restaraunts there, and you might want to look on yelp for the names.  Also, Santa Monica beach is not too far and there are lots of ocean-view places...but again, I don't know the name of them off the top of my head.  Sorry--LA is huge and you tend to only know your own neighborhood.

CurlyGirly, I'd like your Maui recs! We're going in July for our honeymoon. We are staying at Kapalua Villas.

We haven't done much research as to restaurants and activities yet (too busy trying to get to the wedding!), but I'd love to hear any recs or thoughts you have! Thanks!

hi there - in hollywood, if you want to have an "LA" experience, i'd suggest BOA Steakhouse and Katsuya.  both are great food, trendy, potential celeb sightings...i think great choices for special occassions and close to the W Hollywood.  hope that helps.  let us know if you need more recommendations.

one more thing, if you are looking for a recommendation at the beach...try Moonshadows, Gladstones or Geoffreys.  all great w/ great views, great drives along the coast up towards Malibu.

Some great places to go in LA would be the Stinking Rose or Lawry's Steak House or the Geisha. There's some excellent places to eat around here but a definitely fun place to go for you and your hubby (or soon-to-be) hubby would be Sprinkles cupcakes as a day time fun.

Ruth's Chris in Beverly Hills is my favorite steakhouse. I love CHIN CHIN on Sunset in West Hollywood for a slightly nicer than casual, but still relaxed restaurant for Chinese food and you can sit on the patio and get a great view of Sunset Blvd. Also, if you head to Santa Monica, The Viceroy has a great menu and if you dont want to eat at their restaurant, you can order cocktails and appetizers poolside. Paradise Cove in Malibu is great too!

    Have fun!!!!
