Ideas for Parents Gifts

Hi Girls- I was wondering what you all are planning for your parents gifts?  I'm stuck on what to get for my future MIL- she is a widow and a lot of ideas I have for my parents gift involves both of them (restaurant gift cert, picnic basket, etc.).  I wanted something more personal than the traditional framed picture of the bride and groom. Any other good gift ideas?

I got my FMIL a hankie that says "Julie, Thank you for raising your son to be the man of my dreams" with our names and wedding date. I ordered it off Etsy. I know our wedding is going to be an emotional time for her and it will come in handy to dry her tears. I am getting my parents a double frame with a thank you poem on one side and an engagement pic of us on the other side. They can then replace it with a wedding picture of us. HTH!

A spa gift cert or 'relaxation basket' (hand lotion, aromatherapy spray or soap, candles, coffee/tea/wine, a good book or 2, etc in a nice basket?)

Does she have any hobbies, like knitting, sewing, painting, etc? You could get her a gift card to an appropriate craft store? Maybe a gift card to a spa for a few services? We got my parents a tandem bicycle and DH's parents an overnight away. I agree with you in wanting to avoid the traditional picture frame-type gifts.
