How often do you clean your ring? What do you use to clean it? Is it possible to clean it too often?
I have had my ring less than 2 weeks and I've cleaned it 3-4 times so far. I have that jewelry cleaner in the red container and just take the brush out and give my ring a once over and then rinse and dry it all without taking it off my finger. I figure every once in a while I'll soak it too. I usually only take my ring off when doing dishes, showering, applying lotion, or doing something messy.
Re: ring cleaning question
Better than ring cleaner - a little bowl of water, a sprtz of Windex, and a toothbrush. A diamond specialist gave me that trick once and I never buy cleaner anymore. But you should take your ring off when you're cleaning it - you can clean under the diamond much better and it'll sparkle even more!
[QUOTE]You can clean it as often as you want, but if it's white gold (instead of platnium or palladium), I would check with a jeweler. Often, the gold can "scratch" off, so you may want to check with them. But, you're doing the right thing in taking it off when you wash your hands, etc. Just don't forget where you put it! :-) Better than ring cleaner - a little bowl of water, a sprtz of Windex, and a toothbrush. Gold gets scratched, yes, but it doesn't matter the color. White gold turns slowly over time because it is actually yellow gold with other metals added.
The best thing besides taking it to a jeweler to have it cleaned, is dawn soap and hot water. It's really gentle and will make your ring really sparkle. :)
Don't spend ANY money to get a ring cleaned, most jewelry stores (like chain stores) will clean jewelry for free. Polishing/Re-dipping may cost money.
