Although we had talked about it in round about ways, I didn't expect my now fiance to propose so soon. He'd let on that he was thinking about it, but said it would be around Christmas if that soon.
Because we both love Christmas, we put up our tree the weekend after Halloween. He told me he had a surprise for me in the morning, but I got to pestering him. He always does small surprises, and I didn't know why he was telling me I had to wait a whole extra 12 hours. He finally said he had to go do it, and he can give it to me then.
I had to hide in our bedroom while he did something in our living room. When I came out, he wasn't here. He got back a few minutes later, sat down next to me and said he was sending me on a scavenger hunt. My only clue was "It's something you use everyday." Afte guessing incorrectly, I finally guessed my car. He said yes, and that I had to go to it, but I had to go alone and couldn't take anything with me.
When I got to my car I saw an arrow on my back window, followed the arrow to the side, where he had written "Will you marry me?" Of course, I squealed, but he wasn't there. I walked back to our apartment (about a two minute walk) and when I came inside, he got on one knee, told me how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend his life with me. Of course I said yes!
