Good places for outdoor receptions?

Heeeey guys, I'm wanting a reception outside (preferrably in one of those fabulous big tents) in the grass and in nature. And I cannot for the life of me find a place that will allow me to do this. Other than Geneva on the Lake.. except they charge $60+ per person for food. HOW RIDICULOUS! =( anyone have any ideas? I'm honestly willing to accept a reception in a NICE barn as long as there is field and nature around it. Thanks! *also, I'm more towards the youngstown side of NE Ohio- but I'll go to cleveland/akron if necessary.

I don;t know if you would be interested, but that is how they do weddings at Tara just over the border in PA.  You could also check Julia's Bed and Breakfast in Hubbard.

Oh and I know you can do that at Tudor House south of Akron but when we looked into it they didn't allow alcohol and I wasn't into that, lol.

Also check out Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We had my sister's bridal shower at a location there (Hines Hill) where they allow outdoor weddings, tents, etc. They have restrooms so you would not have to worry about that and there is a nice pond and plenty of parking. It was beautiful there. This place was close to Peninsula. The fee was very reasonable and you can bring in your own food.

Take a look at Meadow Ridge Farm.  They have pavilions.  They also allow you to rent tents.  Food prices are reasonable.  They dont provide alcohol but they allow for you to bring your own.  http://www.meadowridgefarm.com/

Hale Farm and Village does tented weddings too. Pics in my bio. (Didn't do a tented reception...but there are photos of the grounds.)

Stan Hywet on the northwest side of Akron is very nice w/ gorgeous grounds, but may be spendy.Mapleside Farms in Brunswick is an apple farm and I know they do tented receptions overlooking the orchard. They also have a party room that accommodates I think 150? That would be a nice backup. Also, on the east side, in Chesterland, there's Orchard Hills Party Room that's part of Patterson Fruit Farm. You'd probably be able to arrange for a tent wedding on the grounds. Worth a call, anyway.Maize Valley Winery in Hartville has party rooms or you could do a tented event. Or, check into any winery, really. There are several east of Cleveland: Ferrante and Harpersfield come to mind.Good luck!

I wanted the EXACT same thing and was having the same problem! I am getting married in the gardens at Hiram College and having our reception in a huge grassy area right next to the gardens. I strongly suggest checking it out... if you need the contact info of the coordinator - I'd be more than happy to give you my coordinator's info!
