bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts

what did you get or what are you getting for your bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts?  I was thinking about getting mongrammed totes for my girls and paying for their hair the day of..is that good enough? I've never been in a wedding before so i don't know the standard.

I bought my girls monogrammed totes (from personalizationmall.com - highly recommended!) and they still use them all the time!  I also bought them earrings, a bracelet and flip-flops to wear the day of the wedding.  I asked that they all have their hair done professionally, so I paid for it, but I did not consider it part of their gift because it was "required".

I am getting my BMs a necklace/earring set for the wedding, a tote with "wedding day survival supplies", and paying for hair/make-up.  I offered to get the hair/make-up but did not require it so I consider it part of the gift.

I did totes with earrings and bracelet, a clutch purse (etsy.com) and flip flops.  Husband did gift from Things remembered with flask, cigar and holder and cutter.  I think they were $50.  I did not ask anyone to get their hair or makeup done, but had someone (for each) come to my parents house while we were getting ready if they wanted to take advantage...and just about all of my bridal party did! They each gave a discount since they were doing more than originally planned too!  HTH!

I also did totes from a really cute website, pursenickity.com. They are adorable! I put little footie slippers in them (since November is really good for flip flops), hair flowers that I got on Etsy to match our colors, and a body lotion/wash set. I am also lucky enough to have 2 very close friends that are awesome hair dressers (one of which is in the wedding) so they decided together to do everyone's hair as my gift from them. My fiance got the guys really cool bottle openers from capcatcher.com and chose each one based on each groomsmen's fav beer.

I gave my girls tote bags with their initials monogrammed, flip flops, and a personalized gift for each of them. For the guys we gave them silver cuff links and flasks with their initials engraved on them.

I went to bath & body works at Lodi outlet mall and found nice totes for under $5 and make-up bags. Also got them few odds and ends. But got each a personalized compact mirror from The Knot.  I waited until they were on sale. Got the guys the beer mugs with shot glass from The Knot and also pocket watches. All the stuff I received from tThe Knot turned out great. Also everyone loved it.

I am doing for my girls: Tote's that I am rhinestoning their names on, flip flops, necklace/earring set from Davids, and a lotion from VS or B&BW. I do not know what we are doing for FI side though...still have 6 months from TODAY to figure it out! :)

What you have in mind for your girls would be fine, I think. It would be nice to throw some little things into the tote bags though. My girls weren't into totes, so I got them each a silk jewelry roll (different color for each of them), along with earrings and necklace to wear for the big day. I did not pay for their hair but I wasn't 'requiring' certain styling for them or anything either. We gave our groomsmen each a Pulsar mini LED keychain flashlight and a Leatherman multi-tool. DH and I agreed that a useful gift would be best for them. (DH has been in many weddings where the typical money clip or monogrammed pen set or monogrammed mug/glass were the gift and he wanted to be unique.)

Our wedding color was chocolate so I got each girl their necklace and earrings, a hoodie with just first initial in chocolate, and flipflops...since it was OCT it could have been cold or warm.  Most still wear the hoodie and flipflopsFor the guys - we got Kenneth Cole watches with chocolate faces at K&G at N olmsted actually for $40 each.  Great find and had multiple styles to pick from so it worked great!

My fiance is taking care of his "boys" and I am taking care of all my "girls"

I bought all of the jewelry for my bridesmaids from Premier Jewelry, my cousin is a consultant so I got most of their necklaces for 1/2 price  :) I am getting pedicures/manicures for all of them the day before. I am writing them personal thank you letters and taking a picture with each one individually to give them after the wedding.

I think that the more personal it is, the better!
